Have received the statement of charges for Mr [redacted] , AptC, Newark, OH We were not previously aware of this letter or these charges This letter was not in Mr [redacted] file I will add that as of September 16, this manager is no longer employed by Divergent PropertiesThis is another in a long list of improprieties committed by this manager In light of this discovery FABCO has already been contacted and all current charges made to Mr [redacted] has been withdrawn Please relay to MrDavid [redacted] my assurance that this in no way was intended to double bill With Regards Betty B [redacted] Manager Divergent Properties \

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find the resolution is satisfactory to me

This is in regards to Complaint ID [redacted] The allegations in the complaint are and unsubstantiatedI have attached a copy of the move out costs and repairs that were needed after his son [redacted] vacated the homeIt was in horrible shapeThe carpet did have to be replaced due to animal stains from cats and filthThe carpet cost, installation, and floor sealing was prorated due to his residency lengthThere was wall repair that needed to be done as wellAll blinds were either broken or missing and had to be replacedThe stove top was burnt around burners and in bad shape In regards to the AC/PTAC unit in his townhome while he resided there, it did have to be repaired and cleaned due to cat hair, urine and filthThe refrigerator was previously replaced because the compressor had been destroyed due to overheating All airways were completely clogged with dirt and cat hair Mr [redacted] was not charged for this We have a bulging file of housekeeping discrepancies that is available for inspection As to the charge of slum landlord and section housing It is true Mr [redacted] was on section That is one of the reasons Mr [redacted] moved Section housing does not require their clients to maintain their home in a livable condition Because of this we no longer accept section Also, Mr [redacted] is really no longer capable of living on his own and section does not provide for their housekeepingI invite anyone to inspect the apartments, interview the tenants, whatever anyone wishes If anyone can remotely call this complex a slum ran by a slumlord I will buy them the biggest steak dinner they will ever have I invite anyone to talk to the other tenants that still live in the same building that Mr [redacted] lived in, and get their assessment of Mr [redacted] and the condition of his apartment I honestly feel bad for Mr [redacted] , he need someone to look after him, maybe like a family member??? Here is a link to a video I took of the apartment on the last day my son lived there.  It does not look anything like the pictures they presented.  Yes, it was dirty.  I have no problem with them keeping the deposit for cleaning.  The landlord has access to all the units, so these pictures could have been taken in any number of them.  Plus, taking close up pictures of dirt doesn't really paint the entire picture.  The appliances and carpeting were old and would have had to be replaced anyway.  He's just trying to do it on someone else's dime.   The link also contains a .PDF document that lists the "extortion" charges back in 2007.   $2100 dollars, which I paid.  Now he wants $1200 more?  I don't think so.  And I stand behind my slumlord comment.    My son asked several times for them to come out and fix a light switch that was clearly installed incorrectly.  It would spark when you turned it on or off, which could easily have caused a fire.  The only thing they ever did to the apartment was when it was on my dime.   It's criminal to charge someone for 16 years of fair wear and tear, and I plan on taking him to small claims court

That is one of the reasons Mr. [redacted] moved.  Section 8 housing does not require their clients to maintain their home in a livable condition.  Because of this we no longer accept section 8.  Also, Mr. [redacted] is really no longer capable of living on his own and section 8 does not provide for their housekeeping. I invite anyone to inspect the apartments, interview the tenants, whatever anyone wishes.  If anyone can remotely call this complex a slum ran by a slumlord  I will buy them the biggest steak dinner they will ever have.  I invite anyone to talk to the other tenants that still live in the same building that Mr. [redacted] lived in, and get their assessment of   Mr. [redacted] and the condition of his apartment.  I honestly feel bad for Mr. [redacted], he need someone to look after him, maybe like a family member???   In summation, the townhome was not properly taken care. We were not previously aware of this letter or these charges.  This letter was not in Mr. [redacted] file.  I will add that as of September 16, 2011 this manager is no longer employed by Divergent Properties. This is another in a long list of improprieties committed by this manager.
 
In light of this discovery FABCO has already been contacted and all current charges made to Mr. [redacted] has been withdrawn. 
 
Please relay to Mr. David [redacted] my assurance that this in no way was intended to double bill.
