Review: Diverse Catering has refused to refund a deposit for a cancelled event, despite their policy of a full refund for cancellations within 7 days of an event. (This policy is written on their proposals.) Our event was cancelled a month prior to the date. At the time of cancellation, Diverse had no funds from us. We later provided a deposit of $10,000, and we told that we would get a full credit for the new date (which was not scheduled) or a refund less expenses incurred on our behalf if we cancelled. When the planner contacted Ken C[redacted] to cancel, he said he would get back to her/us with the refund amount. Nearly two months later Ken had not gotten back, despite multiple calls, texts and emails. When we finally got in touch with Ken, he said no refund was due. Diverse Catering never provided receipts or any documentation of expenses, just noted they had lost money in 2013 and weren't going to increase those losses by providing a refund. We offered Ken the profit he would have made on the event and he told us we were crazy and were getting nothing. Diverse Catering failed to follow their own refund policy and violated PA consumer protection law as they provided no services and kept our refundable deposit.Desired Settlement: We request a full refund from Diverse Catering for our $10,000 deposit as no proof of expenses on our behalf were ever provided.
