They did a great job insulating my garage ceiling. You have no idea how cold my bedroom was. I had to sleep in the guest room because my bedroom was so cold. Now that it is insulated properly, I can get a good night's sleep and have guests use the guest bedroom.

Review: I have a problem with my pipes freezing every winter. Trying to fix. Had divine energy take a look and they said they can help by insulating the freezing pipes in the basement. Received contract with price. They sent over a plumber to look at situation before they started and by that time, almost a week later, they happened to unfreeze when plumber was over. Plumber blamed my washing machine. When I told him it wasn't the case he got very defensive and thought I Was calling him a liar. He left quickly and said their was nothing he can do because the water was working when he was here. Next freezing night, they froze again. I want to find out why insulating the pipes will not help my situation, which originally we agreed upon, willing to pay them, and have a contract but they will not return my calls not even to explain why they won't take the job or why they have to go back on their guarantee.Desired Settlement: An explanation.

The owner reached out to customer on 3/13/15. The owner was able to discuss the proposal with the customer and explain where we stand on our end. The customer has agreed to have the work proposed completed. Customer will call to schedule the work to be completed when she is available. At this time we are currently waiting to schedule the work once customer calls with availability.

Review: The contractor "Divine Energy Solutions" has failed to complete work for which they were contracted. The contract began after several phone calls (17 August 2012) and discussion for work they said they could perform. When the contract was established. I was told it would only take a matter of days, and now more than a year later the job is still not completed.

Furthermore, the company has failed to respond and continues to not respond to my emails and requests for project completion. I have many emails, over more than a month, with no response.

Additionally, I was promised a full detailed report documenting the energy performance prior to and upon completion of the energy project. They have been fully paid for the energy contract and have failed to provide the promised report.Desired Settlement: I want the fireplace finished. This will now include the reduction of the framing from 2x6 to 2x4 and include the use of the less expensive but nicer mosaic stone instead of brick. The brick was determined to be the only option based on the sub-contractor which has stated they cannot perform the work. The brick had to be a certain size because the framing was made to large and did not allow for the fireplace to have a flush front with the stone. This was due to Divine Energy's framing dimensions which are miss-calculated. The solution is to reduce the front of the frame by two inches allowing for adjustment of the fireplace to make it flush.

Reluctantly, I will consider one other option by Divine Energy. They can end the contract now with no further work and NO FURHTER PAYMENT. Otherwise the contractor must finish the job within the next month. It has already taken 13 months, much of which I have had to live with a dysfunctional living space.

Response:

our position on this job varies somewhat with that of the customer. this project involved two different phases of work: 1)the insulation work & 2) the replacement of the wood stove. the insulation work was completed within a reasonable time frame despite the fact that several unforeseen conditions were uncovered once we started. once the insulation work was completed, w turned our attention to the wood stove. unfortunately, our salesman who contracted this job was quite a bit overzealous and did not investigate the wood stove work thoroughly. the client had represented that the model stove he wanted would fit right into the existing masonry opening of his old stove. after further review, it was discovered that model stove would require the massonry opening to be enlarged by more than two feet. this became an issue as we debated as to whether or not this was our problem. in addition, it was determined that there were structural concerns as to the manner in which the existing stove facade had been constructed prior. further debates/conversations ensued. we consulted with other fireplace/stove contractors and eventually it was determined that in order to install this new stove, the entire existing stone wall (floor to ceiling) would have to come down. the wall would have to be then reframed & stove installed. this led to further delays as we debated as to whose responsibility all this additional masonry work be. in a spirit of cooperation, we agreed to demolish the wall and have an outside contractor install the new stove and required chimney liner. the demo was completed and we framed the wall while we waited for the stove contractor. this delayed things several more weeks. this then led to another debate as to who would pay for all the new masonry work. this went on for several weeks as we debated over the quality of the new stonework and who would pay for it. finally, we reached an agreement that we would absorb the lions share of this additional cost. we were then further delayed by waiting for our mason to become available. as things stand right now, we have agreed to complete the install and work should commence within the next week. as far as the energy report mentioned in the complaint, the customer just asked for this within the last few weeks and we will provide it for him.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: There is not a wait and see button. This is the same

rhetoric I have been receiving for more than a year. There are so many miss

statements in the business' response that it would just look like bickering. I

am tired of the back and forth. I would like the work to be completed. I know they

cannot finish the work within the next week because they haven't even ordered

the stone yet. I had to order the blower for the fireplace myself and will

deduct the cost from what is owed.

The blower may be installed next week, but the sub-contractor is back-logged.

Regardless of the response from Divine

Energy this complaint needs to remain open until the work is completed. If

they live up to their word, that will only be one week longer. Given their track record (verifiable) of taking up to four weeks to respond, This complaint could remain open for quite awhile.

I do not require further response from the business other

than to schedule the completion of the work.
