So this is my experience with Dixie carpet pre-installation. It's pretty short and I'm not sure of their actual work ethic but I'll update later when they are done and let you know the full scoop. My apartment complex hired this company to come out and replace my carpet, scheduled for this Saturday 10/8/16. Unfortunately, I have to go to Beaumont Saturday to visit a friend so I needed to find out what time they would arrive to do the install so off I go to good old [redacted] and pull up their number and call the company. When I spoke with the receptionist I politely asked what time they would arrive and was answered with a cold response that they do not give times and I should not be calling them. Now I understand that it's hard to schedule a time depending on the job and not knowing how long it will take but an arrival time should have a window, I conveyed this to her and let her know that that is not very good customer service if they are unwilling to at least give me an estimated time of arrival. At this point she asked for my name and the name of my apartment complex so I was relieved thinking something was going to be done. Well come to find out she was fishing for information so she could hang up on me call my apartment complex and complain that I was calling her stating that I was rude, which could be the furthest thing from the truth. Expecting any installation company to offer a window for arrival should be common practice and should never be met with hostility,,, am I wrong? Anyways, I spoke with my complex and they laughed and said that they scheduled for AM but yes they cannot give a time or windows. At least AM is some sort of a time frame which the receptionist could of done in the beginning and I would of been satisfied.
