Response:

The customer in question first showed up at this shop on 5-17-2013 for oil change. it was noted then that there was a massive oil leak that needed to be diagnosed. Before leaving they explainted to the sercvice writer that the car was due for a tune up and wanted an estimate. We changed the oil and recommended that they bring the car back so we can add dye and diagnose. They decline. The customer again returned on 5-31-2013 1200 miles later for the die was again informed that the oil leak needed to be addressed. We did not see the customer again until 9-17-2013. Where again wanted the oil changed. At which time we told then that the oil leak was getting worse and needed to be diagnosed along with a multitide of other warning lights that were on in the dash. The milage between oil changes was 7.954 miles. Mileage at 1st oil change was 110482 and then back in 2 months later at 118,436 olenty of time for damage to occur from the leak that was going on. They still declined any further repairs other than an oil change. We explained the best way we could that any ststem that is ran low causes unforseen damages. The customer called on 9-18-2013 the morning after and explained her car cut off on her but had no other problem before, including after the oil change the day before. I drive down to meet her to see what it was doing. Car turned over fine but would not fire. Oil level was great. There was power sterring fluid dripping in the grounf and she said she had been adding for sometime and spilt more that morning. I was going to tow the car back to the shop look at it and didn't charge a dime. I explainted that there was some bottom end noise and would soon need an engine probably from neglecting the oil leaki for something. I explained if I saw the oil from the first visit how long had it been leaking before we started servicing it? I explained that hte root cause why it cut off was not the engine in whole< but was not worth fixing due to the bottom end making the noise it was> she was set on making who she bought the car from to fix it or trade it in> we gave her a free courtesy car to drive and talk with them instead of running the rise of her vehicle cutting off on her again and leaning her stranded we did note that there was a junk pard motor or intake installed because of the markings on top of the motor. when receiving the letter from the Revdex.com if contacted the customer and asked what it was about and I was informed multiple times that the process was started to get the place she bought it from to take care if it. I explained that the letter was directed to me and I saw nothing of any complaint to them. I asked for her to email it to me and Im still waiting.
