DJ Tep Joyner

Review: We hired DJ Tep Joyner to DJ our wedding on October 5, 2013. He was the worst DJ I have ever seen and ruined my wedding ceremony. He was late getting to the venue although he had been asked several times to visit or contact the venue-he didn't. He showed up 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. He delayed the ceremony by 10 minutes so we started late when everyone was ready at 3pm. He did not have the songs I requested days earlier, of which he replied in an email to. He used the best man's cell phone to download and play the ceremony music and the vendor's speakers-none of his own equipment!. The music for my attendants cut on and off during the ceremony. There was an additional 3-4 minute delay while he tried to find my music to walk down the aisle. In the mean time he starts to play our recessional music and then sees me motion to cut it off. I don't know what he played for my entrance but it wasn't what I asked for and I was tired of waiting and the delays. After the ceremony he had to set up his equipment DURING cocktail hour. Luckily my venue had a programmable piano and opened the windows to the back patio so there would be music during cocktail hour. He did not know how to pronounce our last name when he announced us at the reception although we had phone conversations and a face to face with him several times prior. For the reception he did not bring lights, tables and set up farthest from the venue so he had no light after the sun went down at 6 and the reception went till 10, although he told us he would have everything. We also agreed to a main and satellite station because of the wide open area between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Only brought the one station. We gave him about 6 hours worth of music to play that we wanted to hear yet he played the same song 3 times at the reception. We requested only country music and specifically told him we were not interested in any 'club' music. He played 'club' music at the reception. The most unprofessional DJ!Desired Settlement: My husband and I want our deposit back. We signed a contract in March for DJ Joyner's services for $899 and gave him a $449 deposit. I spoke to him on the phone on 10/29/13 and we all agree we will not pay the remaining balance of $450 but when I asked for my deposit back he told me no, he showed up and did his job. We are seeking a refund of our deposit ($449)due to the horrible and completely unprofessional job he did.
