Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Number one, DJ claims the entire house was covered in "felt" before he leftThis was and is a metal roofI don't believe there is any felt under it, and, according to the renter's, who were living in the house, the roof was left entirely open and uncovered, except for a spot on one end of the roofThey have pictures of the standing water in the house and in the light fixtures.Second, I fully believe it is DJ's insurance company which has caused the problems and delay in settling this claim, not DJ himselfThe claim's adjuster would not return my calls or emails from the very beginningShe waited months before even responding, which is why we hired an attorneyAll we are asking for is that the water damage caused by the removal of the roof be fixed, nothing moreWe need insulation and drywall replacedWe need the bathtub and flooring, which were removed by the mitigation company, replaced The insurance adjuster has convinced DJ that WE are the problemIf she would contact us maybe we could resolve thisSix months with no response is NOT reasonable Regards, [redacted] [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]

Hi my name is Darrell T***, owner of Dj's Roofing,LLCI have recieved a complaint on 4-10-about a roofing project we have finished for *** ***We have tried to do everything in our power to resolve the matter, but my insurance company will no longer discuss the claim with me because
*** has hired a lawyerThey have been very impatient with the matter, they have tried to get my insurance company to pay for items that were never damagedThey have been told to bring electronics in to have them tested for water damage and they refuse to do soThey're trying to pass off existing water damage to my insurance company to get them to cover itThe water mitigation company ( Delta Disaster Services ) has told them there were no path of water flow from roof to inside of house so it would be impossible to come from roof leakHaving said these things, it has prolonged the process of the claim and with hiring a lawyer I can no longer have any discussions with insurance companyThey have told me it was between Mr***'s attorney and themI have attached two letters that I have wrote to dispute this before to merchant services and would appriciate it if you would please look them overThank you , if there are any questions you can always reach me at ###-###-####Darrell T*** Dj's Roofing,LLC Hi ***, this is Darrell T*** of Dj's Roofing Im sorry the last email I sent you may have been a bit confusingThere was water damage that happened during the process of re roofing it, but there were definatley damages that were not related to that matter and that is why the problem was held up for so longWe were working on another project but they were notified and agreed to that prior to signing contractIt is not unusual practice to do other work until metal roofing arrives from order the following week as explained in my letters.The roof was protected by an underlayment but due to terrible winds and rain, a section of underlayment blew upAgain if you have any questions please call me at ###-###-#### Darrell T*** Dj's Roofing

I am rejecting this response because:In response to DJ roofing claim that we are impatient to have our house repaired I'd like to point out that we only hired an attorney after not getting any response from his insurance company for over monthsThe lady in charge of claims services, *** ***, has only contacted me once, and that was to send me her contact information, which she then never replied toShe also refused to reply to my attorney's attempt to contact her.In regards to the electronics damaged by the water, those belong to my renter's and they were told that opening the electronics would void any warrantiesI believe that *** *** told them they would be taken care ofThat was months ago and still no response from Ms***.DJ claims that there was already water damage in the house and this is trueWater was coming down one wall in the house and numerous attempts to repair it did not help, so we hired DJ to re roof the entire houseWe weren't in town when he took the roof off, but our renters have said that they asked him why he was removing the roof when rain was in the forecast and they asked him to leave it until he had replacement materialHe removed the roof and, again according to the renters, only covered a small section with plastic, which then blew off when the rain/wind hitWater poured into the house at such a rate that it filled ceiling light fixtures and got into the fuse boxOur renters received electric shocks when they tried to turn the lights off, so obviously this was more that just a little water damage.DJ did call a mitigation companyThey came out, removed drywall and insulation and set up fansMy renters have now lived the entire winter in a house with missing drywall and insulation, and with plastic sheets hung up to control the drafts, which did not helpI think months is an unconscionable amount of time to spend waiting for this damage to be fixed. We asked DJ several times to help us get his insurance company to respond to us and get our damage repairedIt has been MONTHS and our house is still not repairedWe finally got a settlement offer last week but Ms*** again has not responded back to calls from our attorney

The entire roof was dried inWe have already went over this in previous lettersMr *** and *** *** was notified that the metal was on back order before the job startedIt is not uncommon to tear a roof off without the material in as long as the roof was covered with a protective felt.It was definateley covered entirelyDue to a high winds it blew one corner of the felt up and that is what caused the leakIf had not been for them trying to profit from the claim, I feel the insurance company would have taken care of the matterTrying to get items and problems to be covered that were previously damaged and some things that were not damaged in the first place has thrown up a red flag with insurance company.Mr *** has hired an attorney and the insurance company will no longer speak with me about the claim. The last time I have spoke with the claims adjuster a few months ago, all he could tell me was they have made offers to fix the problem but were rejected by Mr. *** and his attorney
