cancellation or postponement, but remain on file for future date.  [redacted] contracted our services in February of this year, and cancelled this month of June, for 4 months, we have not been able to contract her date of Nov. 8 to potential customers.  I was never informed about any ban of my company at [redacted], until informed by [redacted] on June 11.  Although I do recall having a lady at the wedding insist I cut the music off at the time that the Bride and Groom were dancing their last dance, encircled by their guests.  She never told me who she was, but I assumed the couple's rental time of the hall had expired.  My contractual agreement had also expired, and guests were lining up outside to send couple off in limosine.  I didn't leave early.  This lady, whoever she was evidently banned me for that reason, that I didn't cut off the music at her request.
As for a refund, until I can contract [redacted]'s date of November 8, 2913, her deposit remain on file.  I suggested she convince "[redacted]" allow her to have her contracted DJ service, or make some arragement for her.  After all, they're the one's making this difficult for her, not us.
I've been in business since 1993 with no complaints.  Only good reviews.
I hope we can still provide our services for [redacted] and her family and guests.

I am rejecting this response because on the paper I signed it states "in the event of postponement or cancellation, deposits paid are non-refundable" - however, I am not the one that postponed or cancelled it.
This DJ service was banned from the venue he performed at ("[redacted]") by the [redacted], apparently as a consequence of a major confrontation he had with them. I cannot comment as to the specifics of what transpired between the DJ service and the [redacted] of "[redacted]" - but do not feel that it is either fair or right to be penalized for events that are simply beyond my control or knowledge. It should be no different to me as a customer than if a hurricane destroyed "[redacted]", thus eliminating the wedding at said venue - I shouldn't be penalized in either case...for events outside of my control.
In all fairness, the DJ needs such events in order to book significant business - it thus stands to reason he should return my deposit and try and repair whatever differences with the [redacted] he can, rather than stonewalling the customer (me) caught in the middle.
