An employee had mistakenly stickered the *** *** Shredded Cheese at 2/$The correct price was $The mistake was found, and the product was re-priced at $as it should have beenUnfortunately, in this case, a corner of the incorrect sticker was left uncovered, was not here
when the incident occurred, but the supervisor or duty tells me that the part of the sticker that was left on the package showed a half of a followed by a decimal and 00.Each item in the store has a sign or a shelf tag with a description of the product and its priceIn this case, the *** *** Shredded Cheese has a tag on the shelf with the correct price of $right below the displayed productThat is the price that we need to charge based upon our cost.Our store supervisor explained to the customer that the errant corner, which showed $3.00, was an honest mistake made by an employeeIf she did not want the cheese at its correct price of $1.99, she was of course not obligated to buy the product and we would take it off of her bill, it was not done intentionally; we certainly do not have the time to play those sorts of gamesAn employee was simply in a hurry to fill product in the window, picked up the pricing gun and started pricing without changing the price on her pricing gunThis was her mistake and she was reprimanded for making that mistake.Since the supervisor found that all of the other cheese in the window at the time of this incident was clearly stickered $1.99, and the shelf tag indicated $1.99, it seems that this customer had the misfortune of choosing alone bag with the incorrect sticker not completely covered or removed.Since this incident has obviously caused the customer a large amount of grief, we can issue a store credit for 98c, which is the difference between the accurate cost for two bags of cheese at $each and 2/$which is the price to which the customer believes she should have been entitledWe are sorry that an honest mistake made by one of our employees has resulted in a situation that resulted in this level of confusion.We have run this business for years by doing our best to provide quality merchandise to our customers at reasonable pricesWe appreciate that you at the Revdex.com have provided this opportunity for us to explain the background of this incident
