Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:My pickup is currently at another repair shop having the clutch repaired properly Why would I have this done if MrW [redacted] had done it properly in the first place? MrW [redacted] has been very condescending towards me, and is known to browbeat his help, so of course, they will lie for him He is a very dishonest person, and I will go to social media if he does not make this right! I am not the first woman he has done this to I am finding out that he has a really bad reputation in this town, and I will never recommend him to anyone, in fact, I will tell everyone I know how he has treated me I have had several people tell me that he is a crook, and it shows! Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:While I agree that they should not have to return the money for the oil change, they do need to refund for the clutch MrW [redacted] is, at best, a very inept repairman He was told by Mr [redacted] that he needed to replace the clutch, the flywheel, and the pressure plate so that it would all mesh properly He chose not to As a result, every time the truck is put into gear, the truck shudders and shakes, and the clutch smells hot It does not work properly, and it has to go in for another repair I am a senior citizen on disability, and MrW [redacted] has taken advantage of me He thinks that I am just a "dumb blonde" I learned to drive a standard transmission, and drove a semi-tractor professionally for over years I do know how a clutch is supposed to work Why would I be taking it to another repair shop to have the clutch repaired again if it worked properly? TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN When Ms. [redacted] came to D&L to get her clutch replaced the first time, we also did a LOF (oil change) and replaced a U-joint as well. That being said the total Ms. [redacted] is wanting returned to her would include those services as well. The clutch repair included... removal and replacement of the clutch , bearings, and resurfaced flywheel. Ms [redacted] picked up her vehicle after the first repair around November 14,2016 and returned for the second replacement of the clutch on November 28, 2016. At that time our mechanic Larry found the clutch that had been installed on the first visit had been defective by manufacturer, After the diagnosis had been determined by Larry and agreed upon by the owner Don, D&L replaced the clutch and all its components at NO additional charges to Ms, [redacted] . On February 21 2017 Ms. [redacted] returned for a third time stating something was wrong with the clutch again, so Larry took the truck for test drive and did an inspection on vehicle but didn't find any issues with the clutch repair, Don then took the vehicle on test drive as well didn't find anything wrong with the clutch repair but to make Ms. [redacted] satisfied Don at his expense paid to have another clutch installed for Ms, [redacted] . Shortly after Ms. [redacted] took her vehicle from D&L she returned with a demanding attitude that her vehicle wasn't fixed and she demanded her money back. Don tried to explain to Ms. [redacted] that her clutch was working the correct way and she agreed with him that is was working but she was hearing noise still. So at that time Don took the vehicle for another test drive and heard the noise Ms. [redacted] was talking about, he then tried to explain to her that the noise wasn't her clutch at all and maybe coming from her transmission, she got irrate with him and started yelling, he then told Ms. [redacted] that he had done everything he could to try to please her and it was now obvious that D&L couldn't accomodate Ms. [redacted] any longer and to please leave his business. At that time Ms. [redacted] had said she was going to report D&L to the BBB, Don replied to her to do what she thought she needed to, Ms. [redacted] at that time left the office. I, Amanda, as a witness truly believe that Don did everything he could do to please Ms. [redacted] with the repair but it was completely out of his hands. She was set on getting her money returned on a repair that was completed and correctly finished. if Ms. [redacted] would not have been so irrate and demanding about her money being returned for the service, I know Don would have worked with Ms, [redacted] at finding the problem with her vehicle that she was really complaining about and blaming on the clutch repair. RE: *** *** complaint This customer came in and asked us to check a brake squeak, the A/C because it was not very cold, check fluids, do a general check over and replace trailer plug. Our diagnosis from the work order reads as follows: Over head A/C works good. Generator
works good. A/C on chassis is low on freon but no signs of leak so freon was topped off. It is now blowing cold. Front and rear brakes are at 1/2” and 5/8”. A/C-P/S belt is bad. Need to replace. Shocks good and alternator belt good. All fluids topped off.The belts and tensioner pully were replaced as well as the trailer plug. When customers ask for a general check over this includes belts, hoses, fluids, and brakes. The customer never mentioned anything about the motorhome over heating or having issues of this sort. If there was a leak somewhere internally we did not find it as there was no mention of overheating. Visual inspection of the hoses did not indicate any leaks. We cannot see every problem a vehicle may have by doing a general check over. We took care of all the concerns the customer asked of us. She purchased a motorhome and left town. The nearest freeway is 3-hours from here and if the vehicle was low on coolant there would have been a problem much sooner. According to the negative Google review that she left us she was in Salt Lake City, UT when the breakdown occurred. SLC is about hours away. We apologize for any problems the customer had to face. We are honest and we care about our customers. I do not feel like we were responsible for the mechanical failures that occurred. NOT IMPLYING ANYTHING ELSEMRW*** HAS REPLACED THE CLUTCH AND ITS COMPONENTS TIMES AND HAS ALREADY TAKEN A LOSS IN THIS MATTERWE FEEL THAT D&L SERVICES AND MRW*** HAS DONE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE AT THIS TIME TO MAKE MS*** CONTENT, WE ALSO FEEL THAT MS*** WILL NOT BE SATISFIED WITH ANY OTHER OPTIONS OTHER THAN A REFUND OF MONEY THAT WE AT D&L SERVICES ARE NOT WILLING TO REFUNDWE FEEL THAT MS ***MRW*** GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE D&L SERVICE CUSTOMERS SATISFIED AND DOES EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO DO REPAIRS AT LOWER PRICES FOR CUSTOMERS, CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS FOR MS*** IS MORE THAN ENOUGH. The mechanic I took it to in Utah told me I had no leaks and that my fluids hadn't been topped off. He charged me $40 to look at my vehicle and top off the fluids. Much cheaper than what I paid at this business for no fluids. I didn't expect this business to own up to their quality of work in an honest manner. Than is business in Cortez for you. Seems to be a tread for that area. People don't even want to go to the hospital there. I also work in customer service so I know they aren't willing to admit that maybe they made a mistake in this case. They would just rather save face to continue to look good. Maybe my negative review will save the next kind person that walks through their door the trouble of being screwed over.
