I have made several attempts as to cancelling the service protection plan on my [redacted] Gas bill. I have called, written, and even wrote cancel on my bill. However, one of the attempts several months ago a gentlemen answered and stated that I will no longer get a bill and that he will handle the situation and cancel the service. Months later, I receive a letter in the mail stating that I now owe the [redacted] $647.28. I was shocked to have received this letter since I was told that it was already handled. Also, not seeing anything else further about it on my [redacted] Gas monthly bill. I was sure that it was taken care of. I then once again made a call to try to solve the situation. I asked why did this happen and I don't know why it's been such a difficult time cancelling this service. The lady says that if I don't pay the bill it will be cancelled. I said Yes, Please do. That is what I have been trying to do forever. I also stated, could there be some kind of mix up with my mailing address which is the PO Box and the service address where I live? I don't understand what could be going wrong and why it has taken so long. The lady I spoke with said that they now handle the bill through Columbia Gas but in the past they did not. However, they just started handling the service protection themselves. So I explained how I haven't received anything for months and thought it was resolved but I then get a bill of $647.28. She stated that she will deduct what they have charged me which would bring the balance then down to $215.00. However, I received another revised letter stating not the two fifteen but rather $224.75.The lady stated that these are charges before they took over the group. I asked why it wasn't taken care of before and I don't believe I should pay for their mix up.
