D&M Rentals

failed to notify me of a debt in any way. didn't know until the collections company mailed me a letter.
we had called d&m rentals in the middle of october and notified them that we would be vacating. they then proceeded to still charge for two months of rent that were outside of our expired contract, as well as rack up a bunch of maintenance charges after moving out. they were notified of our moving out. also kept our pet deposit as well as our security deposit. they never MAILED a letter telling us that we owed them a debt. they hand delivered a letter to the apartment. a letter that was about the condition of the apartment that was vacant. so they left a letter there KNOWING that we weren't living there anymore, seeing as the letter was pertaining to the condition of the apartment. had they MAILED it properly, it would have been forwarded to our new address. however due to their wrong practice of notification, and not giving ample opportunity to solve the issue or even telling us that we had a debt. they handed it off to collections without our knowledge. we only found out about the debt because 6 months after moving out, the COLLECTIONS agency mailed us a letter. informing us of this rogue unknown debt and that it was in collections. the debt in total was 2290 plus another 800 for collection fees.
