Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Tri-County Aire did come and bleed the gas line, but that it not the service call I am referring toAfter speaking to my wife, I was reminded that Tri-County Aire also had to come to my property because there was a lot of black soot coming from the exhaust vent of the furnaceIt was at that visit they noticed the regulator spring in the gas valve still contained the natural gas regulator spring and not the LP regulator springThey swapped the natural gas spring for the LP spring and readjusted the output pressure to the gas valveSince the heater was operating without the correct spring in the gas valve, I feel the gas valve should have been completely replaced instead of the spring swappedI find it more than a coincidence that a part of the furnace that rarely needs replaced, quits working after one season of use after it was improperly installed by Tri-County Aire.
Regards,

I again disagree with *** *** comments that we mis-diagnosed her problem, sold a series of unnecessary procedures to uncover a non-existent problem, we didn’t honor the warranty, and wanted to charge her several hundred dollars more than other HVAC companies as everything is explained in detail on our 12/6/responseWe at TCA feel obligated to return the maintenance contract fee (as previously stated) to *** *** without issue. It sounds as if we are both in agreement for the Revdex.com to decide how to resolve *** *** complaint and TCA will be standing by for the Revdex.com’s final resolution so that both parties can move forward

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Tri County Aire mis-diagnosed the problem (a leaky valve) with my HVAC, sold me a series of unnecessary procedures to uncover a non-existent problem (bad coil) and then did not want to honor the warrantyWhen they did finally honor the warranty, they wanted to charge me several hundred dollars more than other HVAC companies to replace the coil. If they were discussing among themselves whether I could pay this amount in installments or not, they never offered this to me.I have paid Tri County Aire a considerable amount of money for work that was unnecessary and did damage to my system that I had to pay to have repaired. At best they failed to identify the initial problem, a leaky valve. At worst they took advantage of my trust in themI do not think it is unreasonable to expect a refund of $540. Please advise me of my next steps as I too am tired of this back and forth Regards,

In June we installed a Heat Pump system for *** *** that included yr labor warranty and a year limited warranty on *** functional partsThe warranty would begin on the day of install in June In November The ***’s made a decision to pour a new concrete pad for
the outside unitTCA moved the units, at no charge, for The ***’sIn August 2016, after years of no service/maintenance from TCA, we received a call from *** *** stating the Airhandler was leaking waterAs per our procedure, *** *** was informed of our $diagnostic feeOur technician arrived to diagnose the system and found the system low on chargeAt that time *** *** was shown her options, with pricing, as well as gave her a price to replace the unitThe option *** *** chose was the isolation leak search quoted for $plus the purchase of a maintenance contract, $194, in addition to the $diagnostic fee for a total of $628. *** *** chose to do an isolation leak search as well as purchase a maintenance contractHer warranty only covers *** Functional Parts of which none was affectedShe paid half down, $314, and the remainder was to be paid at the completion of the jobAfter pressurizing and isolating for the leak in August we came back a week later in September to find the leakIt was then determined that the leak was in the outdoor coil. Remember her system was originally installed in June so her expiration on warranty would be June The technician quoted *** *** for a non-warranty coil $2,*** *** spoke to our service manager concerning the price and also expressed her income situation. The service manager then went back to our paperwork in to prove that the unit was not started in June to get the warranty moved to November Once TCA got the approval for the warranty the service manager called *** *** to quote a price of $1,for the labor to replace the coil, refrigerant and drierThe service manger also brought up that she may want to price out a new unit because of the cost to fix the yr old systemHe also offered her financing for the repairs and new unit of which both she declinedAs far as *** *** mentioning a valve, what valve is she referring to? To date, we have not heard anymore from *** *** except for an email sent with the same info submitted to Revdex.com

To whom it may concern:[redacted] [redacted]'s comment is correct that the natural gas spring was in the valve from the factory and that we did need to come out to install the correct LP gas spring being his system was LP but this had nothing to do with the gas valve being bad. As I stated in my previous response "the system continued to work flawlessly throughout the extremely cold winter that we had" last winter. I will be more than happy to work something out with [redacted] but as I have stated in my responses the gas valve itself was never the problem as the system continued to work flawlessly throughout the extremely cold winter that we had last winter. Tri-County Aire is willing to wave the diagnostic charge of $100 to help ease the burden of this unfortunate gas valve failure issue.Thank you for the opportunity to explain our side of the story concerning this complaint.John B[redacted]PresidentTri-County Aire Inc.

To Whom it may concern:We responded to [redacted]'s service request in October 2014 to find that the gas line had air in it from the original tank installation which caused the system not to start so we bled the line free of air and the system continued to work flawlessly...

throughout the extremely cold winter that we had. This months service call was a bad gas valve and had nothing at all to do with the previous October 2014 service call. [redacted]'s parts for this repair are still under warranty through the manufacture of the equipment at no cost but unfortunately his labor warranty has expired and this is why he is liable for the diagnostic fee as well as the cost to install the replacement valve. Thank you for the opportunity to explain our side of the story concerning this complaint.John B[redacted]PresidentTri-County Aire Inc.
