This letter is in reference to MrTony *** winter pool cover complaintTony did purchase a winter pool cover in October 6, with a year pro-rated warranty We did replace a defective pool cover in November 19, at no charge to him Just recently we received an email
from Tony explaining that the cover he received in was defectiveI explained that the warranty that he received twice does say to inspect the cover from defects once receivedThese are pro-rated warrantiesCustomers receive a two year full replacement from the date of purchase stated on all warrantiesI understand that the cover he received in is damage or defectiveWe shipped the cover back in meaning that the cover was used. I informed the customer that the cover will be prorated base on the original date of purchase of I gave him a discount price to replace the cover for $includes shippingRemember these are prorated warranties, not fully cover warranties. Complaint: 10887014I am rejecting this response because:
This is the 2nd cover that I got that was defective I have purchased a better quality cover when I bought it thinking that it would last long the Supreme cover 12 year warranty, But that did not happen, Two defective covers in a row is uncalled for looks like a quality issue. On the box it says made in CHINA … I paid $81.00 for the cover new from a pool store where I bought the pool. I sent you the receipt, I would think that they include some shipping in the price Midwest first gave me a price of $102.00 after I contacted them by e-mail I was told it would be $70.00 only $11.00 less that what I paid for it under the 12 year so-called warranty for a cover that I only used one season. I was told you should check the cover when you receive it. They sent me the cover in late November it was not used that season I live in Buffalo New York it was 25 and snowing and the pool had ice on it. Where do they think that I could cheek a cover 50’x30’ in my house? As I said before this is a manufacturer defect the costumer should not be responsible for the replacement cost.Sincerely,Tony [redacted]
