Review: On 07/**/2013 a written contract was written between DMV Construction Inc. ([redacted]) ([redacted]) and myself [redacted] on general contracting work to be performed in my home. $39, 000 has been given to [redacted] to date on work to be done. The work is only half done as of today and [redacted] has refused to answer and complete the work as per the contract. The total amount of work written in the contract was $43,000 and $39,000 has been given. The job is at a standstill due to [redacted] lack of response. [redacted] has refused to complete the work, due to various ailments and work obligations and has also refused to speak to me the owner of the property. The person that recommend him, [redacted] has played the role of interventioner to no positive outcome. His partner [redacted] is also non responsive as well. Upon further verification his insurance was cancelled and lapsed back in March of 2013 and he is not licensed to work on Long Island. During our initial conversation he indicated that he was licensed in the state of New York and had liability insurance and upon further verification the statements were false and untrue. He has refused to take any of my calls and refused to answer my emails. The work is at a standstill due to his nonresponsiveness.Desired Settlement: He is to complete the work or provided a refund of $13,000 inorder for the work to be completed.
