From: DNA ServicesDate: Wed, Jan 11, at 2:PMSubject: Response to Complaint (ID: ***)To: ***@myRevdex.com.orgDear ***,This is XuemeiI just talked with you on phone regarding the complaint (ID: ***) against our companyAttached you
will find our response in word document, and the print of emails: Emails-***.pdf is about this job with *** *** (the wife of *** ***), including the agreed hourly rate in the very beginning when discussing the job; and Emails-***.pdf is about the issue demanding for a refund with *** *** (the husband).I also paste our response in the end of the email, in case you have problem opening the word document.Thank you,Xuemei-- DNA Services of Arlington, LLC*** *** ***Fairfax, VA 22033Ph:###-###-####www.DNAServicesofArlington.com----To whom it may concern, We received the complaint (ID: ***) dated on December 24, 2016, today (Jan 8, 2017) in mailBelow is our written response.I have been acquainted with the *** for some time and have performed handyman work for them twice previous to this occurrence, all without incident. Furthermore, as a show of good faith, I have offered my services at a discounted rateThis time was no differentI will have attached email correspondences showing that the hourly rate was agreed upon, as well.On the day in question and having previously rescheduled, I was quite suddenly left with no other option than to bring my family; it being a weekendI did not have a number for the *** and rather than be late or reschedule again, I brought my family alongUpon opening the door, I asked *** *** if it was okay that they were with meShe agreed and invited us in to perform the workAt no time was my child left unsupervised by her mother or even in the work area. The work ultimately took longer than originally anticipated as the *** added other tasks which I will also show in attached emailsIn total, I installed remote controlled ceiling fans and corresponding in- wall switches for the fans, lighting control dimmers in various parts of the house and pendant lightsThis took approximately hoursI said that we would only charge for hours and asked *** *** if the amount of $was acceptableShe agreed that it was and wrote the checkI did not charge a weekend rate for the work as that was not what was originally quotedI asked if she would like an invoice emailed (as I had forgotten my invoice book at home) and she said it wasn’t necessaryMy wife was present for this discussion and will bear witness if neededAll devices were tested in the presence of one or both home owners for their approval.Furthermore, *** *** *** was present with me in each room during the entirety of my visit to the homeWe enjoyed pleasant, professional discussions regarding her pregnancy and upcoming plans*** ***, however, only returned home approximately hours before the end of the workWhen he came home, I did apologize for having to bring my wife and child and he said that it was okayHe even asked me to stay after the completion of the work to advise him on other repairs in the homeThis took approximately another 15-minutes which I did not charge for.It was only the following evening when I received the enigmatic email stating something was wrong and not to involve *** ***As I have mainly dealt with *** *** during our correspondences, I thought this odd.In speaking to *** *** by phone, he told me that he felt my family being present during the work was unprofessionalI was, of course, profusely apologetic and asked if there was an issue with any of the devicesHe informed me that there was not but that they felt “inconvenienced” having a child in their home and because they had to change their plans that I should do something about itNeeding clarification, I asked, “So you want a refund?” To which he replied, “We paid you a lot of money so I want you to sleep on it tonight and tell me tomorrow what you plan to do.”Again, the attached emails will show that this then escalated to demands for $under threat of reporting me to various agencies and even instituting a deadline for which I was to deliver the moneyThis is along with bad reviews already published on consumer websitesIt is my belief that *** *** is attempting to exhort money from me for services I have already performed under threat to my reputation and livelihood for no other benefit than to get a better deal; a sort of “buyer’s remorse”. Furthermore, it is my belief that *** *** has taken this vendetta upon himself, without the prior knowledge or consent of his wifeAs you will see in the emails, *** ***’s emails are always grammatically correct whereas *** *** fails to capitalize my name, even when writing from his wife’s accountTo my knowledge, I continue to have an amicable, professional relationship with *** *** *** and wish her well on her coming childI will continue on in this belief until she tells me otherwise. In summary, I find this complaint to be baseless and without meritI hope that *** *** will find more productive things to spend his time on than wasting other’s, harassing my family and attempting to exhort money from meWhile I am not particularly concerned about the $he originally asked for, I stand by the principle that had this been of issue of condition or quality of work, I would have gone to no end to make it rightHowever, this is simply a man being petty. Dustin S***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]  Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because Dustin S[redacted] is not describing the situation in an accurate manner. He writes that he did not have a number for my wife so that's why he showed up with his family.  Well, our response to that is how come he did not email us as he usually did?  How should my pregnant wife respond when a family shows up by surprise at the door?  What is she supposed to say? Secondly, Dustin writes that under no time period was his daughter left unsupervised.  This is wholly incorrect.  There were times when his daughter was running around in work areas while her dad was on a ladder fixing a ceiling fan with electrical wires sticking out. Is that professional?  Of course not.  Those are the facts.  But Dustin seemed to think that is okay in terms of how to raise his child.  Let it also be known that the work took longer because there were a few times during the work that Dustin went to check in on his daughter downstairs.  Again, is that professional?  Is that how a responsible person should behave?   We basically babysitted his daughter and wife for most of the day.  So we want $150 back for babysitting charges which seems to be a fair and reasonable amount. We had boxes all over our house and other items which made it not the best of environments for a small child. The quality of his work is also now coming into question.  We told him during his work that a couple of the ceiling fans were wobbly.  They are wobbly again.   Finally, how come Dustin is refusing to provide his electrician license number?  Dustin should also know better than to speak about my wife in such a manner.  She is more than happy to speak with Revdex.com to express her disappointment with Dustin's totally unprofessional behavior.   And why hasn't Dustin give us an itemized receipt.  Why is that?  That seems odd.  No other electrician we have ever worked with has not provided us his license number or an itemized receipt.   In conclusion, when I spoke to Dustin on the phone and mentioned that my wife was pregnant, he issued a slur and said she and I should learn how to raise a child.  He really should be ashamed of himself for speaking in such a disrespectful manner to my wife.  As I noted above, my wife is happy to speak with Revdex.com on this issue.
