I did call, and spoke directly with the owner, Doug C***, who told me he was not feeling well on the day he should have shown up for workWe had no reason not to expect him the following day as he left a full bucket of mortar with his trowels in it on the floor, his broom and dust pan, along with personal items (a hat, a sweatshirt), all the materials to complete the job, and a promise that he would correct his mistakes and make it look beautifulHe took the 2nd of installments on the day he left all the above materials here, and just never showed up againWe paid the 2nd installment in good faith because he promised to correct his mistake, even though the "rough-in" was not completed, as were the terms of his contractThere was no reasonable expectation that we had any intention of "finishing the job ourselves" as we had contracted with and partially paid him (according to the terms of his contract) to do the jobHe is obviously a scam artist who has taken advantage of us and is arrogant enough to refer to us as disrespectful We do not consider the matter closed as he should be held responsible for taking our money, abandoning the job, and costing us thousands of dollars to fix the mess he left

All you had to do is call.  My phone got water damaged during the storm and I lost all data.  When I didnt hear from you, I assumed you finished the job yourself.  Your comments are very disrespectful.......
