Doberman Rescue of Western Pennsylvania Reviews (1)

Review: On July 27, 2014 I adopted a dog from Doberman Rescue of Western Pennsylvania run by [redacted]. He was listed on her site as "good with other dogs and children." I telephoned her and asked about the dog, [redacted]. She assured me that he was good with other dogs and was "well behaved." Within 6 days of having the dog and while walking him, he became aggressive towards another dog as we walked past. So aggressive that it was difficult for me to hold him back from attacking the dog. At that time I e-mailed [redacted] and asked if he had ever shown aggression towards dogs. She assured me he hadn't. On August 6, [redacted] attacked my other dog. [redacted] weighs 98 pounds and my other dog weighs only 60 pounds. The attack was unprovoked and vicious. My dog was bleeding profusely and had to be rushed to an emergency vet. When I contacted [redacted] about the attack and told her that I was going to euthanize [redacted], she simply stated that in the contract it says that I must return the dog to her if I can no longer have it. I took [redacted] to a kennel where he stayed for 3 days while awaiting transport back to Doberman Rescue of Western PA. When I picked him up for transport, the kennel owner said that in the 3 days she had him she became aware that he was very dog aggressive. I notified the Rescue, [redacted], of the fact that while I had had the dog only 10 days he had shown aggression twice, 1 time being the attack on my dog. I also advised her that the kennel owner said in the 3 days she had him he had indeed been aggressive to other dogs. I returned [redacted] to Doberman Rescue of Western PA on August 9 thinking she would observe him for several weeks and make sure he was placed as an "only dog" to a home with no children. But, on August 10, the next day, when I checked her site, he was already posted as ready to be adopted and listed as "good with cats and other dogs". I fear he will do the same to another family's beloved pet or worse child. I don't believe this rescue properly screens it's animals.Desired Settlement: I would like her rescue to be investigated to be sure the animals are properly screened. Some of her dogs have been returned to her more than once.
