RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: The cake was an important aspect of my sons party, it wasn’t just dessert. If I wanted just dessert, I would have spent half the cost on a grocery store cake. The cake was part of the party décor and was supposed to be displayed for his whole party for people to admire.Per our contract, cake was to be delivered at 11am prior to his party starting at 12pm. The morning of the party I was contacted by the business stating cake would late since a tier was damaged when moving cake from the refrigerator. Once I reached the venue, I reached out to see status and owner said she was in route. By our next communication, she stated she was in an accident. I asked for her location so someone could come get the cake since she said it wasn’t damaged too bad, however she stated it wouldn’t be long and was waiting for a police for a report.When business arrived with cake, she didn’t want to discuss the issue/possible monetary refund to rectify this issue. She stated we could discuss a resolution in upcoming week, her response time was slow and she didn’t seem interested in making this issue right.It was the business choice to provide a three tier cake, however this is not what our contact was for and I shouldn’t be penalized for it. When spending $355 on cakes, it is expected they are delivered on time and of professional bakery appearance. In response to the complaint ID #***.Client paid for a two-tier cake ($250) and a smaller cake ($65). The client was delivered the smaller cake and as a kind gesture, the client was delivered a THREE tier cake instead of the two tier at no charge because in our original conversations
that is what she had wanted before price was discussed. (value $$more than the client paid. The email where the different price quotes were given can be supplied.). Delivery fee was $40.The cakes were delivered less than hours late and before dessert. (Cakes delivered before 2pm, venue was rented beginning at 12pm). The reason for the lateness was that the delivery vehicle had been involved in an accident on the way to the venue. (Police report with time of the accident can also be supplied.) Client was updated every couple minutes of the situation so that she knew the cake was still on the way.If the client would like a partial refund of the delivery fee due to the lateness, that is acceptable. Cakes were still delivered, and by the clients own admission, the guests enjoyed the cake. The only damage was a small scratch on one tier on the back side of the cake that was not visible in pictures(Cake photo attached). Howeverthe $in extra cake that was delivered was still more than any partial amount of the $delivery fee that was charged
