Review: I hired Dr. Roof Roofing to replace the rubber roof on my home on 9/13/2013 for the amount of $4800.00 materials and labor to include a 25 year transferable warranty. The scope of work as stated on the Contractors invoice was to include a new rubber roof, removal of existing rubber roof down to the surface deck underneath the fiber board, to install new fiberboard insulation screwed & capped into place, to install .045 rubber roofing system, to seal & secure new rubber roof totally in addition to sealing and flashing corners around chimney and to remove all trash and debris.

After the installation of the BRAND NEW RUBBER ROOF on 09/22/2013 substantial leaking was observed in my shower stall which had never leaked before. Dr. Roof arrived on 09/23/2013 to fix the leak and assured me that the problem had been corrected. On 10/05/2013 substantial leaking of the roof was again noticed in the shower stall of the residence and they arrived 10/09/2013 to correct the leaking for a second time and again assured me that the roof had been correctly repaired against for leaking. On 10/10/2013 I awoke to three separate substantial leaks in the roof. The same leak in the shower stall, a leak behind the bar service area and a leak through a light fixture in the Kitchen Hallway. On 10/13/2013 Dr. Roof arrived to AGAIN fix the problem and AGAIN assured me that the problem had been corrected.

On 02/18/2014 severe (steady stream) leaking was noticed in the bar area again. The floor was covered with water and the Pergo Floors completely soaked and swollen. I contacted Dr. Roof and spoke with Dean Carter, Owner who advised me that this was not a warranty issue and that it would be a good time to contact my homeowners insurance to file a claim due the weather and "perhaps I could get some extra money out of it". I immediately terminated the phone call and proceeded to contact my insurance company advising them of such. On 02/19/2014 I contacted a PROFESSIONAL roofing company to assess the problem and mitigate the damages as instructed by my homeowners insurance company. Upon inspection it was deemed by three separate professional roofing companies that the entire rubber roof was installed at a grossly sub-standard level, the fiber board was never replaced as the scope of work indicated it would be, the outer edges of the roof were not sealed properly, that all flashing was not completed properly, that the wood deck beneath the fiber board was soaked and that the entire roof must be completely removed down to the rafters.

Current estimates put total damages due to the GROSS negligence of Dr. Roof Roofing Co. at approximately $15,000 so far.Desired Settlement: It is my desire in light of the unfolding of events, the sub-standard roof replacement and negligence and conversations with Dean Carter, Owner of Dr. Roof Roofing Co. over since 09/13/2013 that I receive a full refund in the amount of $4800.
