Be very careful to not make demands of Dr. Tile. He is a nice guy, but sensitive. He may not feel comfortable telling you clearly that your job is going to go over, way over, his estimate. He will need you to listen to his numerous victim stories, such as not showing up because his dog vomited in his car, and he had to go see his injury lawyer all day. He will send his young well meaning proteges to do the work, who may not know what he has promised in the way of additional work. He will show up to be paid but may leave without notice once he has been paid, not leaving a copy of your invoice with you. He may be victim of not getting his business messages on his new phone for a whole month on which you have called and left many messages. He may say he put the invoice copy in the mail. He may return your disappointed email or text, saying he has in fact over charged you and will return to finish the bits undone on your job, and reimburse you. But remember, just because you have paid and waited a month he cannot put you at the top of his work list.
He may blame you, and become angry, if he shows up at the undesignated time and you are not available. He may then feel that he no longer owes you the reimbursement since he spent time and money getting to your house at a time that was convenient for him but unknown to you, or no longer feel the need to fulfill the completion of your job.
But don't blame him or expect him to take care of his customers, because he is the victim. Don't expect your certified letter you may send to him to reach its destination, as it will be "undeliverable as addressed".
