Complaint[redacted]Dodge body shop quoted me 68$ approx for a lift gate handle part for my 2007 [redacted]. They I stalled it and called to tell me the part was $297 and [redacted] the shop manager refused to honour the original quote. I believe they quoted me the wrong part but they said the part had gone up in price in the week since they had ordered it. I have insurance that would have covered this cost minus a 200$ deductible which I indicated to the shop at the time of my initial quote request because if the amount would have exceeded 200$ I would have gone through my insurance to cover it. Not only did Dodge make an error, but they held no accountability for their error and they should have to pay me the difference of $190.40 Desired Settlement390.40 minus the 200$ "quote" I was initially given, therefore I am seeking a refund of 190.40$Business Response [redacted]On Oct.2nd,Dodge City advised to [redacted], what the options were in this case.1.Pay the bill.2.Remove the new part that was replaced,and reinstall the damaged part (At no charge) so the customer could submit a claim with the insurance company.The customer chose the second option.Within fifteen minutes of the conversation, the customer was here to pick her vehicle up. At that time we were just about to drive the vehicle into the shop to remove the new part and reistall the damaged one at the customers request.The Assistant Manager and Shop Foreman reviewd the situation with the customer.The customer chose to pay the bill completely.If you were so upset with this, Why would you pay the bill?[redacted]On the morning of Oct.3rd, the General Manager recieved a letter from [redacted] stating her disatisfaction with the collision Centre.This is where we took action to remedy the complaint.I spoke to the customers husband on October 3rd and expressed that Dodge City was not being deceitful in this matter, and I also apoligized. He stated to me, no problem.I also stated we will reimburse the total amount back. He seemed very thankful over the phone.[redacted] In closing, Dodge City reimbursed the customer $390.40.on October 3rd,2014.This amount is $190.40 more than the customer was looking for.[redacted]
