We had a subscription with Dodge Data & Analytics at one time and we decided we no longer wanted the subscription due to price being to expensive. I called on 4/12/2018 to cancel before contract renewed. A customer service rep took my request and told me the "Account Manger" - Scott K would be calling me to finalize the cancellation. No call was made. I just have two emails from Scott K stating where he was wanting to work with us on lowering the price. February 2019 we receive a COLLECTION NOTICE! I called the Collection Company *** to let them know I had cancelled the subscription with Dodge Data & Analytics and I was told to forward my email correspondences I had with Scott K. I forward the emails and this still did not work because a second Collection notice was sent. I called Scott to ask him why we were sent to collections and he rudely said "Anything that has been sent to Collection I can not talk about." and he hung up on me. We refused to pay and filed the Dodge Data & Analytics file away! November 2019 a third Collection notice was mailed.I made arrangements to visit with our Attorney about this mess! After much talk between my husband the owner and myself the co-owner we decided to cancel our visit with our Attorney. We decided to pay for this ridiculous collection!! We think by the time this is all over with it may cost us more out of our pocket with Attorney fees and etc. Just making a check to this collection agency in the amount of $1,812.88 to take their part and send Dodge Data & Analytic their part makes me SICK!! We are VERY, VERY OUTRAGED with Dodge Data & Analytics and DO NOT RECOMMEND any other businesses to even get involved with this company!!

I recently experienced some financial hardships and needed to cancel my subscription to their online service. I was told that wasn't possible by several different people. I, foolishly, allowed the monthly billing to be automatically taken from my bank account and, apparently, didn't read the fine print that I had agreed to a one year contract. Honestly, I don't believe I was ever told that it was a one year contract and that I couldn't opt out whenever I wanted. It's a pay by month setup so I'm not receiving anything that hasn't already been paid for. I find it ridiculous that they won't simply cancel the contract and be done with it. I've tried several times but they don't seem to care. I would not recommend anyone subscribe to this service.

Customer signed an annual, non-cancellable contract on 11/20/18 @ $1,750. The only time the customer can cancel is at the end of their Initial Term on 11/19/19 as long as they notify DDA 30 days before renewal. The customer e-mailed DDA on 2/18/19 of their intention to cancel so we set the contract to expire on 11/19/19, which is the end of their contract. The customer is locked into their contract until that time. A copy of their contract can be provided upon request.

I am rejecting this response because:

I realize (after that fact) that I signed a one year contract. As I said, I wasn't clearly aware of that when I signed on but I accept that it's my fault that I didn't read the agreement carefully enough. My company is in the process of shutting down so any and all subscriptions will either be cancelled or simply no longer paid. I was trying to end things without conflict and so that all of my vendors would be aware of the situation. I find it ridiculous that, under these circumstances, that my contract just can't be dissolved immediately and billing be stopped. It's paid monthly, anyway, for an online service. It's not as if they will be out any money if the subscription is stopped. I've already paid for the time I've had the service. It's silly that they treat their contracts like this. Every company should have exceptions. I'd rather go out on good terms.

Regards

Understand our customer's position, but they did sign an annual, non-cancellable contract and we need to enforce those contracts if we're going to have a business. That's why we execute contracts instead of allowing only subscriptions to our data. To be a viable business we need to adhere to the terms of our contract. The contract was just signed in November '18. It is currently set to expire in our system on 11/19/19, i.e. at the end of the contract the customer signed.

I am unable to cancel service and wasn’t notified properly of the service continuing. I have repeatedly asked the service be canceled because of the platform not being user friendly and not having any use to us. The product
and service was severely and grossly misrepresented to my company and I. I
never received a completed and executed contract that would allow me to understand any of the terms of the contract. The account representative was rude and told me I was pretty much stuck and had to pay the entire bill for another year of useless service and I have no choice, I am now being threatened to be sent to collections by the company. The original contract amount went up
without any disclosure or renegotiation of contract. These are deceptive trade practices. Horrible experience. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Customer signed an annual non-cancelable contract on 11/21/17 @ an annual rate of $900. The billing effective date of the contract was 11/21/17. By terms of our contract, his service auto-renewed on 11/21/18. Customers are permitted to cancel only at renewal with 30 days advanced written notice. Customer sent an e-mail on 2/15/19 requesting cancellation and we established a future cancel date of 11/20/19....i.e. the end of their current contract. The customer would have had to notify us by 10/20/18 if they wanted to cancel in advance of their Renewal Term starting 11/21/18. Customer currently owes Dodge Data & Analytics $1,016.76 for their Renewal Term from 11/21/18 to 11/20/19. Their receivable has now aged out 111 days. Their contract is still active in our system and we continue to abide by the terms of the contract by continuing to provide service to the customer. I can provide copies of the contract the customer signed if necessary.

I am rejecting this response because: This is not a proper response to my compliant, so they automatically renew a clients contract without consent of the client? No signature on a renewal not even a response from me saying to continue with a renewal? This seems unethical and repulsive business practices, no wonder this company has an "F" rating. It seems that there is no reason for me to pay this unreasonable company because they can provide NO proof of me authorizing the renewal with an original signature or even an original response authorizing it. This is now harassment by this company to pursue this any further.

Regards

....not much more I can say on this one. the contract terms state very specifically that the contracts auto-renew. There's no need for customer authorization each year to renew. And, there are e-mails to them 30-60-90 days in advance of renewal to give them a heads up. I can provide a copy of the contract the customer signed, if that'll help.

I am rejecting this response because this is now almost laughable if they weren't trying to steal money from us. They are once again offering to show me the original renewal contract with my original signature, I have asked for this multiple times and still have not received it. Once again, I will reiterate that this company has an F rating on the Revdex.com website and that there are multiple complaints regarding the same thing that they are doing to me. Completely unethical business practices. Produce the original renewal contract with signed original signature.

We attempted to cancel the service after the initial term. According to the terms and conditions on our original agreement, once the initial term expired we are able to cancel with 10 days notice during any renewal term. Dodge Data claimed their company sent a change in terms and conditions to our company in the form of a letter and insisted we were obligated to another full year of service. However, we have no record of receiving the letter much less agreeing to the change in terms. Interestingly, the original agreement we signed clearly states that the agreement can only be modified in writing, signed by an authorized person of each party. They are unable to produce a signed acknowledgement from our company approving the change in terms and conditions because we were never notified nor did we agree to the change. Despite no less than a dozen email exchanges, they refuse to acknowledge they have no legal basis for pushing the issue.

Subscribed to service - it was horrendous and never used. Did not wish to renew - was told "automatic renewal" was now in place for accounts, but never received notice of this new feature.

Asked numerous times to cancel our account. Instead of resolving, sent our bill to collections! I have some emails back and forth, however, the majority of correspondence was heated phone conversations (from me – demanding that they cancel my account) – they said they automatically renewed our account and I said that is NOT what we agreed to – I received an email from someone named Gia F in account management stating that these terms were set up for years. That is untrue. The account manager Frank said these were new terms and I told him we did not agree to them and I reiterated the fact that we did not want or use this service and to cancel our “automatic renewal” at once – since this is not something we agreed to. They said a letter was sent out stating an auto-renewal was their new policy as of last August. So their email stating that was in place for years was deceiving and a complete lie.

We chose not to renew our account and notified Dodge Data Analytics as soon as we received an invoice for renewal. We then began receiving credit collections for an amount of $233.94. We called to resolve the matter and were told that although we canceled in time, there is a processing period and this is the reason for the amount owed. We told them we did not sign an auto renewal contract, they stated that is true we did not, however, it auto renewed. We have been trying to resolve this issue with them since March of this year and it is now July. Each time we receive a notice we call. The last two conversations with ***, the collections agency, has been they will remove the charge once they confirm the account was not logged into or used during that processing period after we canceled till they actually turned off the account. That someone would call back to notify it was resolved. No call back ever... we called again today after receiving yet another credit collection notice and the supervisor stated the amount would not be removed as they have an auto renewal contract on file. This company is in our opinion is demonstrating shady practices of auto renewal without customer consent and snaking people out of money. They do not offer a method of resolution once they have placed fraudulent charges on your account. If we do not get this matter resolved, our legal team will step in to resolve the situation. $233.94 is not a lot of money but these practices are wrong! We will never use this service again due to these types of practices.
