This is regarding the complaint that I submitted on 3/19/against Dodrill Heating and Cooling LLC I received ya'll letter about the service that Dodrill did at my home and at this point I am not sure where it helped with the problems I am having out of my heater Dodrill stated that they thought it was coal dust due to leaks in unit and house but I never had the problem before they installed the new unit and I look like I would have the same problems out of my air condition putting in the coal dust because it operates the same way I have talked to my neighbors and they don't have no problems with any kind of black dust/soot being sucked into their house nor does ***'s or *** *** which are in front of my house between me and the tracks I checked all my pipe and the only place I found a seal leak was at the main trunk which I fix my self and I would like to leave this open until 12/30/to see if the black soot happens again I have had to replace my ceiling tile and paint for the last two winters which I paid for out of my pocket and if the problem is in the heater I think Dodrill should pay me for my labor and material

I apologize with my slow reply to your clarification requestI was having a slight crisis at home and your email got pushed somewhat to the backburnerMy girlfriend's Full name is *** *** *** and as far as dodrill doing the work, we had a friend of her family
come take a look at it for us, and he did the repair work for us and ordered the partAfter Dodrill, and more specifically, the technician ***, stood in our house and lied to both of us, we didn't want anything to do with their companyThe only service we received was the inspection and service quoteWe did not use them to do the warranty work because we discovered the deception before we agreed to have anything done
My biggest concern is not to gain reimbursement for the inspection or anything of that natureI just know that if this situation happened to my grandmother, that she would've trusted this person to be telling her the truth, and that what this technician did was basically a scamI am more mad about him lying to me than anything elseIf you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to call me on my cell phone at ***If you have to go through this form, I understand, but dont hesitate to call me on this matterI would like to know what happens after this report has gone through and if there will be any kind of investigation into thisThank you all very much for your help with this

This letter is in regards to [redacted]' complaint. I had previously received an inter-company Customer Concern
Notice for [redacted] (owner of residence). She is the girlfriend of [redacted]. Our form instructed me to call [redacted]'s brother [redacted] at
[redacted]. I called and left several messages on the following dates - 2/13,
2/17 and 2/19/2014 but with no response.
We did dispatch our technician [redacted] to [redacted] on 1/22/14. He diagnosed that the compressor was shorted and
needed replaced. [redacted] then called the local [redacted] supplier/distributor. He
spoke with [redacted] and was told that the compressor was out of warranty.
I, in turn, called [redacted] and was given two
(2) different dates. On the first call, I was given the 47th week of 2008 which
is 11/26/2008. The compressor has a five (5) year part only warranty. Based on
that date, the compressor warranty expired on 11/26/2013.
I called back to [redacted] and asked them to
research the history of the unit further. I asked them to check for any
previous parts warranty claims that may have been filed, which would show an
actual installation date for the unit. They did find that a motor warranty
claim had been filed in 2010. They were then able to find an installation date
of 6/22/2009. The 2008 date given previously was the manufacturing date. The
system in question was never registered for warranty purposes and is probably
where the confusion came in. I then called back to the local [redacted] supplier
and asked to speak with [redacted]. He could not remember talking with our
technician [redacted] also said if it's been longer than 10 minutes ago he
can't remember.
In closing, we rely on the information provided by the local
supplier for warranty information on any heating and cooling system that was
not installed by our company. I believe the information provided to us was
correct. However, on the initial phone call we were given the manufacturing
date of 2008, which would place the compressor out of warranty. The follow up phone
call, upon further research, confirmed that the unit had never been registered
for a warranty installation date and during that call, we were given the
original installation date of 6/22/09, which would place the compressor part
under warranty until 6/22/2014.
Due to the circumstances as described above and the information
provided to us on the initial phone call, we acted accordingly and do not feel
that we intentionally deceived or mislead anyone as we were provided with
information that the compressor was out of warranty.

I didn't like the way their sales rep pretended to call and negotiate a deal for you with the owner/manager. I was charged a price that you would pay to install a complete system, including duct work. I felt because I didn't have funds available to purchase up front and needed to finance, I was charged a maximum price. I have since found out I could've went another route with other choices. It's hind sight now but never again will I fall victim to a sales rep.
