I know that when *** does a job, it is done right and that insulation was done rightI have spoken with other professional in the construction field and they have stated that insulation is suppose to be put in with the paper facing down and the plastic over that to create a vapor barrierand from the photos that were sent to me show just thatIf you place the insulation with the fiber facing down and then put plastic over it that will create moisture and damage to the floorsthe area of the vent was fixed and the rock was to make the animals think its blocked or sealed so that they wouldn't get back in, but air can still get in. This job was put in correctly, and with someone else changing it does void the warranty. *** was in this business for over thirty years, and he did know what he was doing, and he also made sure that the jobs were done to his satisfactionThis was done seven years ago, and if it wasn't done right it would have showed signs way before nowAs far as the phone calls go, if anyone tried calling the office they were told that their was a family emergency and it would be awhile before anyone could get back to them, during the time that she called, which she called in August 2014, and the owner passed away days later. There is a time of grieving when losing someone, even a companies owner

Aquatech basement inc., was not informed of this until after she had the work completed, however we did ask to see the picture that we still have not seen, we were not given the opportunity to fix anything even though it was under warrantyhowever we did try to send someone out to take a look and
she said that she was going on vacation and that she would call when she got backwe are not trying to avoid anything, but we were not given a chance to look at. or even correct this issueas you know that we have had a great lose to the company and the transition has not been easyAquatech Basement, Incis still honoring the warrantyAgain we have not been given the chance to look at this before or afterand I did contact her by phone and email. And when the jobs are completed the customer only pays when satisfied, otherwise we stay on the job until they areAgain we would like to know who done the job and we would like to see the pictures and an chance to take a look at it ourselves, which I did ask Mrs*** of this and have not received a response on this time or day as of yet

we have been out there every time she has called, we have not received a call from her, and if she called three weeks ago that is when [redacted] had passed away and I wasn't sure if the business was going to keep going or not and anyone who called was told that there was a family emergency and the company was on hold until [redacted] got better.
but he didn't and passed away during that time frame.  I have been trying to do my best to satisfy everyone and grieve at the same time. but mrs. [redacted] has not called to my knowledge, but since I now know, I will contact her to find out what is going on.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have researched insulation installation and have also contacted other insulating companies. They absolutely agree the insulation was incorrectly installed.  By placing the paper to the floor, this will trap moisture and with the additional plastic placed over the insulation, this caused a double problem.  I also had a different contractor that removed the pieces of broken concrete from the vent and reinstalled new vents in the spaced.  This is very disappointing that Aquatech will not admit error in how the insulation was placed and also to how the vents were fixed.
 
I do understand there is a period for grieving. I only met [redacted] a couple of times.  From what I can remember, I could tell he was a very honorable man.  I do not believe this was intentional and I do not believe any short cuts occurred.  My challenge to you is how can you honor an incorrect insulation from a customer who truly trusted Aquatech,
 
I ask you to do your research on the proper way to install insulation. I ask you to call reputable insulators and ask them about the correct insulation method.  I did...I ask you to do the same.  I know you said you did but I have been researching for several weeks on the east coast.  However, I did not have to go further than Central Va to find information on insulation installation.

Aquatech did a job for Mrs. [redacted] over a year ago, the job was done on the garage and not the basement. in view of going out there, I noticed that the water was coming in above the area that was marked on her contract. I had showed her where the water was coming in many different places and that...

according to the contract, that was highlighted, that was the only area water wasn't coming in at. So, Aquatech did the job they were hired to do. It was also explained to Mrs. [redacted], that after she had tile put on top of the roof of her garage, that who ever done the chaulking around under the railing, that prevented the water to drain and instead created a channel that led straight to her steps and down her brick wall causing wear on the mortar and brick, that was allowing the water to leak into her garage from above. This is no fault of Aquatech and for that no refund.

Mr. Andrews has been ill, but one of our employees, [redacted], has been at the job site and has almost completed the job.

I have complete documentation and correspondence that will prove that I have made requests to speak with the person responding to the emails.  They have yet to identify themselves and will not accept a meeting or call request.  I have also documented that I spoke with a gentlemen whom had planned to come to my house.  I did call him to tell him it was a Labor Day weekend and had plans to go out of town on the Saturday of Labor day weekend.  I also informed him the insulation had been redone and I had made several attempts to contact them.  He, at that time informed me the owner had passed 2 weeks prior.  I asked that someone had been emailing me and I assumed it was the owner.  He then told me that it was the owner's fiancee.  He appears to lose interest and surprised when I told him the work had been complete but I had pictures.  I asked to reschedule and called him several times but no response back.  I then proceeded to call the office and email.  I have all email correspondence and documented calls and conversations with answering services.  I have yet to have a conversation with the owner's fiancee.  I also have a email where she stated..what do you want me to do about this.  I responded with an email stating that I was very surprised at her response.
 
I would very much like to to actually speak to the individual and current owner of the company.  Again, I have all my emails and documentation showing I have done everything possible to speak and resolve this issue.

We at Aqua Tech Basement, Inc. are grieving the lose of our owner, [redacted], who passed away. [redacted] who runs the office has been and was taking care of [redacted] in his last months, is trying to get things back on track. I was never informed about her basement leaking, however I did send...

someone out to fix the drain that she said was sticking out of her yard and she told them to do it later at which that was completed. We have no problem fixing her basement but we could not help the events that took place in these last few months.  [redacted] has a warranty and must give us a chance to fix it.
