Yes he was a customer, he did purchase a waterproof dog bed from us, and yes he complained of a cigarette smoke smell.We have electricians that come into the shop, some do smoke, but the office and sewing room is smoke free What he is smelling is the chemical smell of the new Marine grade vinyl and same with a new shipment of foam from the supplier The chemical smell dissipates over time, we tried to explain that to him, he wanted no part of itWe told him he could return the bed we would issue a full refund, and we did.Later he contacted us and wanted us to pay return shipping charges, which were outrageous Had he followed instructions for the shipping, costs would have been a fraction of what he paidWe said 'no'.He logged a complaint with [redacted] , they dismissed the complaint.He has gone to [redacted] and said, among other things, we are not reputable.He made threats to us, and repeated those threats on [redacted] .If I make a purchase from any retailer, decide I don't like the product, almost all will accept a return with a partial or full refund, at times there are restock charges Never has any retailer offered to, nor would they, agree to reimburse the return shipping charges.No, we never told him we'd refund his return shipping charges- [redacted] - Dog Cheap Sleeps

We've talked it over here, we will reimburse the customer exactly what we paid to ship the bed originally. Which was $24.96, that shipping cost was born by us, not the customer.The customer chose to ship the bed back via ***, certified with return receipt requested, one of the more expensive methods of shipping.*** did dismiss his complaint, they referred him to policies stating the customer pays for return shipping costs. I still have that email from ***.When someone names every agency he can possibly contact to report us, how is that not a threat?The foam was brand new, we had just opened the plastic it comes wrapped in. The vinyl was a brand new bolt of vinyl from the factory, we had just loaded it onto the cutting table.His $was returned without hesitation. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.When I called the company, before I asked to return the bed, I asked bluntly if their employees smoked. I was told that sometimes they do. Regardless of why the bed reeked it was supposed to be new. New items of any kind should have no defects including strong odors. The seller does not seem to understand this simple fact. I only contacted the seller once. There was only one telephone conversation. I was given no instructions as to how to return the bed or by what manner. I shipped it back via the least expensive method available to me. I used [redacted] with delivery confirmation. I scanned a copy of the [redacted] receipt and emailed it to them. The dog bed I ordered was quite large and heavy and therefore costed more to ship back. I was told point blank by the customer service rep. I spoke to that I would be fully reimbursed. The company should stand behind what their employees promise. [redacted] did not dismiss the complaint. [redacted] returned my cost of the bed. This is certainly not a dismissal. I made no threats via [redacted]. I posted on to their [redacted] page, which is a public forum and stated my opinion that they are disreputable. I made no threats. I simply stated that I had filed complaints with the Revdex.com and [redacted] offices in MI and AZ which is my right. Lastly, many reputable companies, large and small, pay for an item to be returned. [redacted] is just such an example. They do what is necessary to keep the customer happy. If this company had just honored what their representative told me, I would have my $40 and this issue would have been over with a month ago.
