My name is [redacted] I am the co-owner Of Colorado Pet Services On May 10th [redacted] had someone other than herself (maybe a daughter, a pet sitter I don't know)drop off [redacted] at our facility [redacted] was being treated for an eye surgery or injury, that's why they said he hadn't come inThey knew he was matted, When [redacted] checked in the dog she told the person the dog was more than likely going to have to be shaved.These mats are not brushable at this pointThe head was severely matted had food all in it, and it looked like it had gotten wetWhen matted hair gets wet like cotton it shrinks and is not brushableIt shrinks tight to the skinIf shaving isn't an option for a dog in this condition, Surely brush burning to get this out will occur [redacted] did what was safe for the dogWith the owner knowing this she felt it was ok to shave the dog she did tell them it would be short because of mattsWhen I found out the issue I refunded the client her money and made a deal with her to groom her dog for free for a year to make up for the shaving, shaving a [redacted] head happens more often than anyone thinksTheir hair is very cotton like and they need to be brushed bathed and combed out every to weeksThere are concerns of mine she called my shop and cursed at my employees and has lied about a matted dog, and refund that was given and I as the owner tried to make good by grooming her dog till it grows outNow that is unheard of but really felt bad for the dogI do not ever promise to be able to brush out a matted dogIt's not something we can be realistic aboutI sent her her refund receipt via e-mail and she had also not been into our shop since DecemberI'm sorry but months is way to long to have a [redacted] go with a bath and a brush and a grooming the hair just is too cotton like and they bathed this dog at homeAs you can see by their history they bring their dog in only every months we cannot be held responsible for a dog that is being bathed at home and not being brushed out first [redacted] Owner Colorado Pet ServicesDog Country Grooming

I am rejecting this response because: Response is inaccurate and is making judgmental statements upon myself and how and what we do to care for our dog We are dealing with the facts that pertaining to the issue of her shaving my dog and not give a refund until a complaint was filed I myself took my dog into the shop thst day and was NEVER told anything about being shaved or I would have never agreed to leave my dog there And the statement was made that we had to wait a week, days for his eye to heal as he was having issues with his lower intestinal area that affect he eye Nothing to do with eye surgery as statedAlso, we keep our dog brushed as we know about the fur of the breed This is not our first dog of this breed, we happen to have had two other dogs of this breed and have NEVER had to have them shaved for any reason That is because we care for our animals properly We do not take our dog to the same groomer each time for many reasons one is time and the our schedule doesn't allow for us to make appointments for many weeks in advance so to speak to the months time frame has nothing to do with the business The reason for not going back for the offerings by this co-owner were very evident in the job that they did the first time with my dog And after speaking with many others this is not the first time that they have shaved a dog down without the owners consent.

There are concerns of mine she called my shop and cursed at my employees and has lied about a matted dog, and refund that was given and I as the owner tried to make good by grooming her dog till it grows out. Now that is unheard of but really felt bad for the dog. I do not ever promise to be able to brush out a matted dog. It's not something we can be realistic about. I sent her her refund receipt via e-mail and she had also not been into our shop since December. I'm sorry but 6 months is way to long to have a [redacted] go with a bath and a brush and a grooming the hair just is too cotton like and they bathed this dog at home.
