I have a three year old male American pit bull terrier who had several issues with fearful aggression towards other animals, especially large dogs, and some people. I couldn't even tell you how much time and money I spent with other training programs, even going to an animal behaviorist with little to no results. After working with [redacted] at Best In Show, my dog's aggression has been eliminated. He even has a new best friend and house mate- a husky/German Shepard mix. They're now inseperable. Beyond that, he now even behaves phenomenally no matter the situation, distraction, or surroundings. Best In Show is different than any other training I've ever come across because they work in a way your dog will understand and excel with. Each case is given a personal plan based on the dog's own personality and problems and through interactive sessions they teach you exactly how to communicate with the animal successfully so that you are getting the results you want. Instead of the older, "rubbing their nose in it" based method, they use mark words that let the dog know when they are doing the right thing, and if they are doing the wrong thing, to look to you for redirection.

Make your life more peaceful and give Best In Show a call and let [redacted] explain it to you himself, you won't be disappointed.

Working with [redacted] and Best In Show has been one of the best things I could have done for my 1 year old Doberman, Gesiah. I found that Gesiah would be walking me down the street and basically do whatever he wanted when he wanted. I did my best trying to do my own obedience training by watching "It's me or the Dog" and the "Dog Whisperer" but I was not get consistent results like I wanted. I found that playing fetch, calling him to come when I wanted him, eating his food with having to dress It up, and going to the bathroom all over the yard was a battle. After putting in a phone call to [redacted], he invited me to a few of his sessions.

I noticed that when I asked Gesiah to do a command he would only do it if there was a treat involved or sometimes he would do nothing because he was out of his environment. My goal was for him to be obedient on my terms not his.

I finally decided to leave Gesiah with [redacted] in his home for 2 1/2 weeks. [redacted] welcomed me to visit Gesiah at anytime and to also see the progress that they had made.

After the 2 1/2 weeks with [redacted], Gesiah walks by my side, listens to my commands, eats his food and has good manners. Thanks to [redacted] and the techniques he taught me, his level of expertise enhanced my understanding and competency in working with my dog on his weaknesses as well as my own weaknesses as the pack leader. I am very pleased with [redacted]'s training methods and have witnessed an impressive change in my dog's behavior and attitude. I strongly recommend [redacted]'s services for both dog owner novices as well as those of you who consider yourselves fairly knowledgeable and competent. There's always room to grow, and [redacted] experience can help you do just that. The Investment was well worth it and your services were greatly appreciated. Thank you [redacted]!!!!!!!!

With warm regards,

[redacted] and the new and improved Gesiah

Update 12-30-2013: 4.5 years later, Gesiah is now 5 1/2 years old and has maintained all of the training he was taught by [redacted]. Anytime I walk into a [redacted] or a dog park, I'm always complimented on his behavior and how well he listens. Even at home he does great when I get company at the door or when we go on walks. [redacted] has been a blessing. He has taught me so much but at the end of the day it's about having a dog who listens well and behaves. Gesiah is very loving and gentle but most importantly he continues to be obedient. Once again Thank you [redacted] for doing such an amazing job!!!

My goals were a little different than others who have posted on here. I own a working line German shepherd that I am training to compete with in Schutzhund, a very demanding dog sport that is IMO poetry in motion (google it if your curious). I am a member of a Schutzhund club that meets twice a week for formal sport training which is fantastic, I have club members who have competed at high levels and trainers who are highly regarded in the sport. But to be able to achieve the level I want to get to I needed additional help, heck even [redacted] a coach! So I asked around, talked with people whom I greatly respect in the sport and everyone kept pointing me to Orlando of Best In Show Training. As happen stance goes, I ended up attending an Obedience Seminar being taught by Orlando and was fortunate enough to be able to participate with my young dog under his tutelage where he showed me how to better communicate with my partner (my dog). He quickly got me to understand that my dog and I are a team and that it is my job in this team to communicate what I want. I need to teach my dog how to move the way I want him to, when my dog is wrong and out of position then I need to clearly communicate that is not what I want AND I need to do this without conflict. Shortly after that seminar I contacted Best In Show for private training and let me tell you, the difference is evident in every aspect of my dog’s and my relationship. The obedience is crisper and with more intensity and purpose and I am now confident that with my continued work with Orlando I will make it the German Shepherd Nationals.

One last point I want to make on this. I know more trainers than times you have shaken hands LOL, and I am serious about that. I just spent this last weekend in San Diego surrounded by 60+ dog trainers, I have close friends who make their living as a dog trainer, but its Orlando they all turn to when they have questions and find themselves scratching their head with a dog.

Don’t waste time like I did, give them a call, meet with them and then you will know why Orlando is the trainer that other trainers turn to and learn from.

In the past I have attended Dog Training classes at [redacted]. What a waste of money for a small amount of time the trainers are actually focused on your dog.
[redacted] has a FAR superior method of training and we started to see results immediatly. After working with [redacted], my wife and I realized that we had been going about training the wrong way and placing blame on our dog rather than our training techniques. That was quickly corrected by [redacted]; and now training is fun, effective, and easy enough for our 6 year old to understand and participate in.
[redacted] is flexible and has different training packages for every desired level of dog competancy and every financial situation. We chose the 3 week package that includes [redacted] doing some boarding and training at his facility. He sent us a video after 2 days and our yellow lab Paisley was doing things that would have taken us months to teach if not for [redacted].
His facility in Gilbert is well kept, spacious, A/C, and he only keeps a limited amount of dogs at his facility at one time (approx. 6) He also video logs many of the training sessions so that you can see your dogs progress.
I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for. This has been one of our best investments. What a relief to be in complete control of our dog. We constantly receive positive comments at home and the dog park on how well our lab behaves. [redacted] is punctional, professional, and unmatched when it comes to understanding dog behavior.
I would recommend [redacted] to anyone thinking about getting their dog trained. You won't be disappointed.

We chose Best In Show to train our dogs after seeing [redacted] working with a Doberman at the park. We were unable to walk our 93 lb. black and tan cnhound, Tucker, without being severely pulled and were unable to control his barking at all the passing dogs.
Tucker spent 4 weeks with [redacted] and the difference in Tucker’s behavior after this time was nothing short of amazing. Not only did [redacted] train our dog using clear commands and positive reinforcement, his training includes working with us (the owners). He taught us the commands and how to communicate them to the dog. It was hands-on training as [redacted] watched us working with the dog and coached us on how to do it correctly. To us, this is the key to why Best In Show is so successful. BIS gives you the tools (i.e. the word commands, the body language, and a mini-course on dog behavior) to work with and then you are able to use this after BIS’s training has ended.
When Tucker returned home, it became clear very quickly that our 2 other dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) would need training as well. In addition to walking, Tucker’s training also included manners at home such as not jumping and barking at visitors and not going out the front door unless given the command. While Tucker behaved, the little dogs did not understand the commands and it became chaotic. Once again, we were very happy with the results. After 3 weeks with [redacted], the little dogs were right in sync with Tucker. [redacted] again coached us by watching us work with the little dogs. I would recommend if you have multiple dogs to have them all trained at the same time. This will make your life much easier.
Let me say right here that I was more apprehensive about parting with the little dogs for training than with Tucker. This was for no other reason than they are little and I felt “protective”. Understanding this, [redacted] went above and beyond what was required to make me feel comfortable. Know that when Best In Show has your dogs, they are in good hands.
Best In Show operates in a professional manner. Clients are treated with first-class service. There is no confusion about what can or cannot be accomplished with your dog, rates and training packages are clearly spelled out, calls/texts are promptly returned and BIS shows up for all appointments on-time and most of the time they arrive early. Our dogs were always very excited to see the trainer and that tells me the trainer made an effort to connect with the dogs.
We highly recommend Best In Show for dog training and thank them for all they have accomplished with our dogs and their owners!

Working with Best in Show has been an extremely positive experience for me and my dog. Orlando worked so well with us, we met more frequently in the beginning and then I was able to do some "homework" and really fine tune things that were not clicking. I dropped my dog off with him for two weeks. (Not easy, considering my dog goes literally everywhere with me) But by the end of that two weeks, I had the same loving, happy, goofball dog, with all of his personality and an exceptional new trait of self control! I am so impressed, I have already recommend Best in Show to some of my friends. It is worth every penny. We are now proud canine good citizens, and I'm no longer that girl getting walked by her dog!
