Dogwood Place Apartments has not returned my security deposit. It has been almost 3 months and Florida law says they only have 15 days to return. I actually have an email stating I would get the full security deposit back. The office employee is being uncooperative and is refusing to supply me with the owners contact information. I am trying to get this handled without a lawsuit but am prepared to do so.

Refund Return my security deposit.
There was an error during the change of management. We have sent the refund check to Mr.. Check #132 dated 3/24/2020 in the amount of $550.00. Staff has made several attempts to contact Mr. to determine if he received the refund check since he did not provide us with a forwarding address. The check was mailed to the last known address of *** Lane Pensacola, FL XXXXX.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Folks, here is my final thought on all of this. I have Finally received my security deposit back. I dispute the statement that I did not leave a forwarding address. Over the past 3 months I have actually left my forwarding address multiple times. I find it sad that someone who is disabled had to spent months chasing down My money. It wasn't until I discovered the company attorney's contact info and threaten legal action did this issue get resolved. The owners of this complex should be ashamed of themselves.
