Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/04/27) */
Thank you for contacting us regarding this customer, we appreciate the opportunity to look at the complete picture.
We have 26 years full of satisfied customers that call us back again and again for their construction projects.
We...

(Sunnyland Construction) drove to customers home and reviewed his garage project with him, then provided a written quotation to perform the complete project, including pulling of any necessary permits, and coordination of any necessary inspections, this is standard when we contract with a customer for a complete project.
Subsequent to providing quotation, Customer elected to act as his own contractor, and sub contract portions of the project out to multiple entities to complete his project. By taking over as contractor on the project, customer assumes the responsibility for pulling permits, and scheduling any necessary inspections with the local governing bodies.
When customer took over as contractor, we were not required to be registered with Lagrange County since we were no longer the contractor, but were now a sub-contractor under the customer, and we were registered with the county, just not active at that time. It is very common in the industry to hold off updating a registration with a local entity if a construction company has no active projects that require registration.
Customer hired Sunnyland Construction to pour the concrete slab only, not to coordinate the timing of the pour with any needed inspections, and upon completion of the concrete pour, customer did not express any concerns to us, nor indicate that there was any problem that needed addressed.
As stated, we will stand behind our work, and address any issues with the quality of the workmanship, and materials provided; we have done exactly that for 26 years.
We will not be responsible for customers failure to obtain inspection prior to the concrete pour, had we coordinated the project, this inspection would have been scheduled and completed prior to pouring concrete.
We would consider a reasonable compromise with customer to allay his concerns over the concrete slab.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2016/04/27) */
He is trying to deflect his responsibility. I was not the contractor, he was. I did not hire the crew, he did. I hired him to do the work and he said that he would. He said that he would make it right and he hasn't. It did not pass inspection. It is his responsibility that his work passes not mine. He has since refused to answer my texts or emails.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2016/05/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Smoke and mirrors again. He told me that he wasn't registered yet because he does that when he gets the permit. He did not get the permit so he hadn't paid his fee. He used to be registered at one time apparently. 14-087 does list Sunnyland Construction but list NO address, City, State, Zip code or phone number. The contractor type lists Remodel. He is throwing 26 years down the tube by playing games. I want the poor quality of work removed and our money back. Then pay to have it replaced by a reputable CONCRETE Company.
