***DOCUMENT ATTACHED***Thank you for your inquiry of January 8, concerning the above referenced.Our records clearly document the vehicle was released without damage to the windshield three days and 431miles earlier-see attached photo and Vehicle Inspection Slip (VIS) signed by Mr [redacted] Any pre-existing damage is indicated on the VIS prior to rental and signed-off by the renter In this instance, Mr [redacted] did make note of minor damages prior to his rental, but none existed to the vehicle's windshield.The claim against Mr [redacted] is purely contractual Each Dollar customer is offered at the time of rental the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) When declining LDW, absolute liability is imposed on the renter if the vehicle is damaged during the rental period.When damage occurs, the renter becomes contractually responsible for reimbursing the car rental company for damages occurring regardless of whether or not the renter is aware of how or when the damage occurred.Prompt payment of the remaining balance of $is due in our Seattle offices

From the begging their paper work shows that the crack on the windshield is on the is on the lower right side, see # But the picture they sent shows the crack being right in the middle above the rear view mirror, see #2.I am not a crook nor I am an it, this people figure this guy is from the other side of the country and we have to find a way to screw him what is he going to do? Come back to Seattle for a wind shield, not likelyThis people should be ashamed of themselves and yes I know what a broken wind shield looks like, I was a Subaru technician for years ASE certifiedI drove that car for hours before returning it, neither my wife nor I noticed any thing, shame on dollar but I am sure this is only the store at Seattle air port.I want to thank Ms*** *** from the Revdex.comFor taking the time to follow up Thank you and have a nice day

rental agreement shows the itemized optional coverages (LDW and RLI/SLI) with its corresponding cost per day and the Accepts/Declines area showing both LDW and RLI/SLI coverage were initialed by you on the original copy, indicating to us that you approved all charges. We have the renter initial these estimates as it is in the best interest of both the company and the renter that the renter know for what exactly he or she is paying. Attached is our response letter that we emailed via [email protected] on July 5, regarding Case ***.We have reviewed this case and find that Mr***' promo code *** attached to the rental was the One Click/Hot Deal Discount which gave him the best rate at that
time of booking Our Portland and Seattle locations are not participating locations for the Pay Now Save Now reservation promo These locations are not prepaid capable and payments are always charged at the end of the rental.Therefore, unfortunately we must decline the request for a refund.Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to this complaint. I am rejecting this response because: In the first set of papers they sent, it indicates the crack to be in the lower right corner of the windshield, and according to the picture they sent is right down the middle in front of the rear view mirror. Please tell me where or how to send the picture they send me and the original papers.

I am rejecting this response because:The resolution is the same as it has been.  I continue to get discount offers from Dollar Car Rental with offers of the same type.  It's pathetic that a business is allowed to make offers and not honor them.  I can imagine the number of similar situations  being very high resulting in the same response.  Were it my decision this type of activity by a business would result in penalty.   Can a business make offers and then simply state they will not honor their offer due to some unannounced requirement.  If one in ten thousand locations is the only one that will honor the offer it would seem to me that it nears dishonesty.  I feel this borders bait and switch techniques used on occasion by other companies.  I will be renting another vehicle in the near future.  Rest assured the likelihood that it will be from this company is non existent.  This complaint is not resolved and I may contact other sources in pursuit of an acceptable resolution.
