DollarCarpet CleaningP.O. Box 212381, Chula Vista CA 91921619.754.6810September 04,2015Dear [redacted] :We received your letter dated August 24, 2015:Dollar Carpet Cleaning provided a service to [redacted] and [redacted] on August 09, 2015 (313:30 ( [redacted] ***). On Sunday August 09 [redacted] arrived and [redacted] let Mr. [redacted] in to inspect the carpet (4 bedrooms, hallway and stairs) as he finished the walk-through he recommended a deep cleaning because he determined that the carpet had not been cleaned in over a year. It had a lot of dark traffic areas due to 3 adults and several kids leaving in the house. He also advised that it would only help the carpet and that it needed to be cleaned more often. [redacted] and [redacted] asked how much the deep cleaning cost and Mr. [redacted] said $60.00, [redacted] and [redacted] looked at each other and said no with a smile. Then they asked how much for the deep cleaning of only the hallway and stairs and Mr. [redacted] said $30.00 and [redacted] looked at [redacted] and he said “yes” (this entire conversation took place on top of the stairscase. Mr. [redacted] also gave them an estimate for the tile and grout cleaning as was requested when the appointment was scheduled over the phone. On Monday August 10 [redacted] Called and said that some spots were still visible on the stairs and hallway, she was told that we needed to schedule an appointment for a technician to re-do thestairs and hallway, the appointment was made for Thursday August 13 ©15:30-16:30 (only time she was available, we are open 7 days a week from 07:00 to 19:00).On Thursday August 13, [redacted] and [redacted] arrived at the address and inspected the areas they were told to inspect and called [redacted] (supervisor) to inform him about the situation. [redacted] wanted them to re-do the whole house. The supervisor called [redacted] (3) 15:45 to inform her that she had set the appointment for the hallway and staircase only (in cases like this, Dollar Carpet Cleaning always sends a supervisor first to assess the situation before sending a technician to do the actual work. Except in this case, the technicians were automatically scheduled to go back and re-do the staircase and hallway so the customer could keep going on with their lives and make everything as simple as possible). [redacted] was told that if she wanted the whole house to be done again, a supervisor needed to go and inspect the carpet, at that point she accepted. An appointment was made for Saturday August 15 between 09 and 11. [redacted] arrived at 09:45 and did a walk-through and pointed out several carpeted areas that were damaged, including: pink/red stains and shadows that are caused by the carpet being cleaned by hand. [redacted] did admit that he had tried to remov several spots/areas in the past and said that someone had cleaned the carpet several months ago (company). This conversation happened in the master bedroom ( [redacted] did mention several times that he did not want to write a negative review, and that something needed to be done. He was told that he had the right to write anything he wanted including a negative review on [redacted] or anywhere else; he also mentioned several times that he was not going to consider the estimate given for the tile and grout). Overall carpet was very clean and it had only a few areas damaged due to in-home products that have been used in the past (a deep cleaning was recommended in order to reduce some of the shadows). Mr. [redacted] authorized to re-do the whole house as a courtesy; [redacted] agreed to do it as soon as possible.Dollar Carpet called [redacted] to re-do the cleaning ( [redacted] G) 11:45) and she said that her husband was not home: an appointment was made for Monday August 17 she requested to call her 30 minutes before arrival. She called on Monday and asked to give her an approximate time of arrival, [redacted] was told that it would be around 13:30. Mr. [redacted] called [redacted] at exactly 13:52 and left a message on her voice mail letting her know that a technician would arrive exactly in 30 minutes. [redacted] arrived at exactly 14:22 on Monday August 17 and the nanny let him in to inspect the carpet. She told him that [redacted] said she only wanted us to re-do the master bedroom, hall way and stairs (the nanny told Mr. [redacted] that [redacted] had said that everything look good and those areas are the only ones that needed to be done “In Spanish”). Mr. [redacted] informed the supervisor about the areas that [redacted] had told the nanny that needed to be cleaned; Mr. [redacted] wrote out the invoice with the areas that he was told by the nanny to clean and asked her to sign the agreement/invoice. The nanny said “no” and that she had tried to call [redacted] but she was not answering her telephone. Mr. [redacted] waited for 10 minutes and was asked to leave the premises by the supervisor. [redacted] called @ 14:48 and said that she was home and if someone was going to go back and do the cleaning; at that time she was told that there was a $15.00 fee for going back ( [redacted] hung up the phone). Dollar Carpet did exactly what it was told to, called her 30 minutes before arrival and it was authorize as a re-do as a courtesy. [redacted] called Dollar Carpet and wanted an explanation, he was told exactly what happened; he insisted why we did not go in and start cleaning the carpet. He was told that the nanny told the technician something different (“I am the owner”, he repeated many times). He was also told that we do what we are told by the adult that is present at the house when we arrive; it could have been something medically-related why they decided not to do the rest of the house. We did not know the reason, but the nanny said to only do those areas. [redacted] asked for the owners' phone number and said “voy a agarrar el numero de telefono del dueno, y vas a ver bother” I am going to get the owners telephone number and you will see bother. Review: We had our carpet cleaned by this business on August 9, 2015. The carpet techoffered us a deep cleaning on our stairs since it is a highly trafficked area and assured us it would look like new. The plan was to clean the stairs, hallway and the upstairs bedrooms which includes 4 rooms. So the cleaning was completed. After the cleaning was done I noticed a lot of the stains in the carpet were still visible especially in the stairs, hallway and the master bedroom. I called the next day and the female employee apologized and stated that they were reviewing the invoices from the weekend services completed and if I can call the next day. I really don't know why this was neccesary but I agreed too and she assured me that something would be done. The next day I spoke to the "supervisor" and I told him I was not happy with the service that was done. When the carpet cleaning techs returned the next day they said they were only authorized to redo the stairs and hallway since I had only paid the extra deep cleaning for those specific areas. I told them that' was unacceptable considering I paid for a service that I was not happy with. The carpet in the master bedroom and other bedrooms were visibly still filled with stains and looked like a lousy cleaning job had been done. They said their supervisor only authorized them to clean those 2 areas. I then asked to talk to supervisor. The same supervisor whom I had talked to before. He said he would have to go himself to inspect the carpet to see if he would authorize it to be redone. So the supervisor the next day came to inspect the carpet. He seemed very hesitant to try to fix the situation. he finally agreed to redo the whole job. An appt was set up. When the techs arrived our nanny said we were not home but she was expecting them. Techs arrived and few minutes later were called by supervisor to leave. I called supervisor and he said to return he would have to charge a fee now After initially agreeing to redo job.

Response:

We are not satisfied with the job that was completed. We gave the Buissiness an opportunity to redo the carpet cleaning like the supervisor had agreed and he did not follow through with his word. The supervisor [redacted] was very rude and lacks the professionalism to be a supervisor. He didn't seem like he cared that we were not satisfied with the job that was done. We would like our money back ..
