Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2015/05/27) */
I had been doing everything I could possibly do to help [redacted] locate her
> missing wallet since the first day she called me, stating that she thought

store the following day, stating that she had checked out at
> register 2 at approximately 4pm and believed she may have left her wallet
> on the counter. I explained that nothing had been turned in nor found yet,
> I gathered her Name and contact information and told her I would search
> and call her back if we were able to locate it. During this first
> conversation I asked [redacted] if she had checked all her bags, and car. She
> told me she had received a ride from a friend and at that time had not
> contacted the friend to see if her wallet was possibly in the car they had
> driven in to the store. I advised here to call her friend and have her
> check her car and all her bags also. After hanging up from that
> conversation, I search all the register areas, I went through the trash
> cans and even the trash bags that were from the previous day. [redacted] my FT
> assistant aided me in going through the garbages. I then called the
> Cashier who had helped [redacted] to see if she could remember anything being
> left behind. [redacted] did not recall anything being left at registers, and
> as trained she would have given any lost items to myself or another
> manager; as we immediately lock them in the office until claimed. I
> called [redacted] back and explained my conversation with [redacted], my assistant
> managers and all staff, and what we had done in efforts to search for her
> wallet; with no luck of finding it. [redacted] has also just completed here
> degree in Criminal Justice, with that and knowing her, I trust her
> completely to have turned it in immediately if it had been left at her
> register.
>
> I had several more conversations with [redacted] during the following weeks.
> She had asked if we could pull up camera footage, because she was sure
> then that the lady behind her in line had to have taken it. She recalled
> that the customer in line behind her was writing a check out to pay for
> her purchases and asked if I could go through our sales for the day and
> contact each customer that had written a check that day and ask them if
> they had taken her wallet. I explained to her that even if I could pull a
> report on who issued checks that day, I could not in good conscience call
> our customers and ask them if they had stolen her wallet. I explained,
> that even if I did that, they wouldn't admit to me that they had taken it
> if they did. I also told her at this time that I did not have access to
> camera's or even know if we had camera coverage in the store. I told her I
> would call and email all the information to my DM, which I did, and if
> anyone from corporate contacted me, I would let her know. I also told her
> I gave all her contact information to my DM, which would be given to the
> proper department.
>
> In additional conversations days later, I advised her to contact the
> social security office, as she had said that she had cashed a check from
> them that morning and that was the cash in her wallet. Another
> conversation on a night she called and I wasn't at the store, she spoke
> with [redacted] and [redacted] advised her to contact the local police department.
>
> When [redacted], I believe contacted me about this matter, [redacted] had reported to
> Corporate that she had tried many times to call/contact me and I would
> never return her calls. I was advised to follow up with [redacted] and when I
> did, I asked her why she would tell corporate that I would not speak with
> her, when we both know that isn't true at all, because we've had many many
> conversations and I have done everything possible to be kind and helpful
> to her. She stated at that time that I didn't call her back to tell her
> what the camera's were able to view. I again repeated to her, very kindly,
> that I do not have access to that information and I have sent all
> information in this matter to the my DM and corporate. I told her I feel
> badly her wallet was never recovered, but I feel strongly that I went
> above and beyond to assist her in any way.
>
> I was seriously taken back to receive this letter from the Revdex.com. I am not
> certain that her wallet was left here, or not dropped on the way out, or
> lost in the vehicle or apon arrival at their stop after this store. I am
> however very certain that we did everything we could to help her look for
> it and aid her in her search.
>
> Sincerely,
