[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I absolutely did pay the disputed amount on February 2, The business practice at Dominion Eye is so disorganized that they kept no record of the payment I worked with the [redacted] **, the firm who keeps the charge card records for my Flexible Spending medical account to document the payment I have documentation that Dominion Eye care was paid And all the allegations by MsB [redacted] are just that, allegationsPlus the comment about elective surgery was wrong It was not elective It was to remove a cataract Without the correction, I could not see even with corrective lensFinally, at the time, Dominion Eye told me that they had terminated their relationship with *** They never asked me to hold on and wait for a resolution Regards, [redacted]

July 17, Dear [redacted] : We received your letter today regarding a complaint you had received about out businessWe are very sorry the patient chose to contact your firm before reaching out to is in an effort to resolve her concernsThe patient presented to our office with bilateral cataracts and underwent the first cataract surgeryHer insurance company paid their portion of the bill and left the balance of $as the patient’s responsibilityThis is per her contract with her insurance company and we cannot change thatDuring the time period of her first surgery and when she was ready to schedule the second we had several claims denied by [redacted] which put our contract “on hold” with [redacted] until the disputes were resolvedWe had offered our patient the following options: Wait to schedule the second eye until a resolution with [redacted] was reached, as this was elective surgeryPay a greatly reduced fee out of pocket for the surgery if she wished to have it immediatelyWe would be happy to provide all records free of charge to another surgeon of her choice if she wished to have the surgery immediately and did not want to pay out of pocket.Our patient chose to seek treatment for the second eye by another surgeon as she did not wish to wait for our [redacted] issue to be resolvedWe forwarded her records to the physician of her choice and have not heard from the patient or the physician since then.The patient still has a balance for the first eye that she has not paid since JanuaryWe believe this is her attempt to avoid her financial responsibilityShe has not paid anything

office with bilateral cataracts and underwent the first cataract surgery. Her insurance company paid their portion of the bill and left the balance of $366.04 as the patient’s responsibility. This is per her contract with her insurance company and we cannot change that. During the time period of her first surgery and when she was ready to schedule the second we had several claims denied by [redacted] which put our contract “on hold” with [redacted] until the disputes were resolved. We had offered our patient the following options:
1. Wait to schedule the second eye until a resolution with [redacted] was reached, as this was elective surgery.2. Pay a greatly reduced fee out of pocket for the surgery if she wished to have it immediately.3. We would be happy to provide all records free of charge to another surgeon of her choice if she wished to have the surgery immediately and did not want to pay out of pocket.Our patient chose to seek treatment for the second eye by another surgeon as she did not wish to wait for our [redacted] issue to be resolved. We forwarded her records to the physician of her choice and have not heard from the patient or the physician since then.The patient still has a balance for the first eye that she has not paid since January. I am rejecting this response because: I absolutely did pay the disputed amount on February 2, 2014.  The business practice at Dominion Eye is so disorganized that they kept no record of the payment.  I worked with the [redacted], the firm who keeps the charge card records for my Flexible Spending medical account to document the payment.  I have documentation that Dominion Eye care was paid.  And all the false allegations by Ms. B[redacted] are just that, false allegations.
Plus the comment about elective surgery was wrong.  It was not elective.  It was to remove a cataract.  Without the correction, I could not see even with corrective lens.
Finally, at the time, Dominion Eye told me that they had terminated their relationship with [redacted].  They never asked me to hold on and wait for a resolution.
