They are vulturesThey tow cars for no reason, usually within minutesThe customer service rep in the office is rudeThey should be out of business

My car was towed yesterday evening from its parking spot directly in front of my home The reason given was for an overdue inspection I am furious that DTR believes it is within their job description to tow cars from in front of the owner's home! This seems like the purview of the State of Virginia, not a privately owned company When I went to pick up my vehicle, I was treated rudely by the attendant at the desk and the men in the garage area I cannot believe the lack of professionalism and borderline illegality of this company If I had the means, I would sue

They stole my truck from in front of my house on a private drive

They are vultures. They tow cars for no reason, usually within 15 minutes. The customer service rep in the office is rude. They should be out of business

Review: Poor judgement, rude employeesDesired Settlement: Refund for cost of retrieving my car. No justification of towing.

Review: My car was towed on 8-23-13. I payed the $125 tow fee. When I picked up my AWD Toyota 2004 Matrix that had JUST PASSED VA INSPECTION, with ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES, it was shaking and making a terrible airplane type noise in the rear. I showed the issue to the man at DRT towing, who sits in the window and he said the best thing for me to do is take it to a mechanic. So, I drove my poor little vehicle to the closet mechanics place near my house, [redacted] and walked home. I picked up the car later to find the rear differential and wheel bearing were both destroyed, the car is not safe to drive, and the damages would be about $3,000.So, I took the car over to my boyfriends mechanic at [redacted]'s in [redacted] (they do great service btw) and they fixed the car. The damages were a total of $3,649.74. The tow resulted in me being fired that morning that I was trying to get my car, because I had to call in to work and tell them I may not be able to open the store. I spoke to my property manager, who advised I go down to DTR to fill out a claim. I had my boyfriend drive me down to make the claim (as I have been off and on crutches from an ankle injury), and when I came in to fill out the paper the man behind the window gave me the form and said he would pass it to his boss. He seemed nice at that moment. I called my property manager and let her know I did fill out all the paper work at DTR Towing, She asked if I got a name before I left I replied "No, I will go back in and ask the man". I went in and said "My I have your name, so I know who I am speaking with" That just caused a bigger problem, then the man started threatening and yelling and trying to start confrontation. Now DTR Claims I never even filled out the paper work, they will not give me their insurance information.Desired Settlement: I need/want them to take responsibility for the negligent towing resulting in damage to my vehicle. They are responsible for the reimbursement of the damages that total $3,649.74, to my vehicle in result to the tow. There is sufficient evidence to back my claim. If it is not resolved, I will take further legal action as I have already consulted with my lawyer.

Review: This company was caught a month ago trying to tow my car and the individual said that " I cant park overnight" , the car was moved. Today 5/1 I came home at 5:12pm and was towed by 6:30 and was told that "it is all day and you have to have a pass". So the story changed?

I contacted the HOA and they RECONFIRMED that its "overnight you must present a pass". DTR not only doesnt have their "story" straight, they were beyond rude. (Then again if my job was towing cars I'd be mad all day too). The individual I spoke to on the phone didnt ask to place me on hold and when he came back to the line all he had to say was the address of the company and hung up.

Will be doing anything possible to have this company lose their business with this HOA.Desired Settlement: I had to pay $175 for the car the was IMPROPERLY towed. I'd like a refund. I wouldnt have a problem if minutes later a car was parked there, with no pass and it is now 8:30 and it hasnt been towed.
