Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Regards, [redacted] [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]Don Chalmers has never suggested nor recommended that I contact [redacted] where the vehicle was purchased Furthermore, the suggestion that I contact [redacted] serves no purpose at all since the vehicle was under warranty when I complained of the noise and hesitation problems on three separate occasions The dates of complaint are annotated in my service records on file with Don Chalmers, and I have a copy od the same The service technicians at Don Chalmers mis-diagnosed, and/or failed to properly diagnose the timing chain issue with my Expedition while it was under warranty Their neglect and/or failure to properly diagnose the problem and repair while it was under warranty it does not relieve them of the of their obligation to repair the vehicle after the warranty expired The complete breakdown or functioning of the timing chain components would not have occurred in December of had Don Chalmers properly diagnosed and repaired it on an earlier date while it was under warranty I am planning to have the vehicle repaired on or about Feb6, by another garage if I don't hear an adequate response from Don Chalmers that they will assume responsibility for the repair or the payment of such I will continue to seek whatever action is necessary after this date to remedy my damages for this repair

Mr*** brought his vehicle to us in December of 2016. At that time he had a check engine light on, vehicle ran rough and would stall. We diagnosed the vehicle and recommended replacing the timing components. The vehicle was in our shop months earlier in March of with
a squeaking noise concern. We were not able to duplicate that issue. The vehicle had been in our shop for various other repairs. In those prior visits, we did not have any check engine lights or other indications that there was an engine concern Mr***'s vehicle is out of the factory powertrain coverage when we diagnosed the vehicle in Dec of 2016. Mr***'s warranty coverage expired in May of 2016, his last visit to us was in September for an oil change. We would have gladly performed a warranty repair had the failure occurred when the vehicle was under factory warranty coverage. Unfortunately, Mr***'s coverage has lapsed and it appears he does not have any other extended warranty coverage. We encouraged Mr*** to reach out to *** ***, whom he purchased the vehicle and to contact Ford Motor Company. I am not aware if those calls took place We would be glad to repair the vehicle for Mr*** and be willing to offer a 10% discount off of the $repair estimate we provided the customer
