A few of my girl friends went to celebrite a friends birthday on Friday, March 2. The plan was to have dinner and then go into the lounge area. Dinner was good. Service is quick and the waiters are very attentive. We went to the louge area and was having a good time. Hours passed by and we notice security looking at us continuously. Then at one point, one of the security guards, whom kept staring at us, came up to us and ask for id. We were not acting inappropriately, just a group of girls having fun WITH EACH OTHER. We questioned the reason behind it and he said "they randomly check ids on the floor and especially because we look young" I was id at the door, at dinner and at the bar. We even were standing on the dance floor with drinks in our hands. So what was the problem? I never been to an establishment where they do random id checks while you are on the dancefloor. Accordig to the website they do not let people under 21 in after a certain time and we were there since 10pm. So what was the problem? I think thats very disrespectful and embarrassing. We are grown women that look young! Also during the night men kept grabbing us to dance and we refused. Security once again came up to us and said "next time just politely say no u dont have to move away like that." We are females, do not touch us and we have all rights to move away. Thus proving security was continously watching us allllllllll night. I think this establishement is very discriminatory and I will not be coming back.

Review: Reservation made for my Birthday on 9/** after initial discussion with [redacted] and then [redacted] on September ** 3:56 PM. Dinner reservation made for 8 PM 9/** and Lounge for 10 PM for 15 people. Price quoted for the Lounge was a 2 bottle special initially quoted by [redacted] for $350.00 plus 20% gratuity. Reservation confirmed with [redacted] (mis-spelling name) On my birthday* dinner was delayed 1 hr* and we entered the Lounge shortly after 11 PM. I told [redacted] that I had the reservation for $350 and wanted to see what bottles I could order. She showed me the bar menu and 2 bottles were ordered. At the end of the evening I was presented with a bill for $545.59. I didn't want to make a scene and figured I could resolve this amicably on Sunday without my guests (15) around. I called Sunday* and was told [redacted] nor [redacted] were there* but I could leave a message in Billing department with Fernando and left 2 messages. The 2nd with the Check # [redacted] so this can be re-visited. I never received a callback. I called Monday evening and was told that [redacted] wasn't there and [redacted] had left for the day. I called [redacted] today* 9/** @ 5:15 pm to explain the charges in the Lounge. [redacted] stated that no note was made regarding this reservation and bottle special* when this was discussed and confirmed with [redacted] based on my conversation with her and [redacted] as well when final count was given and authorization for the credit card (AMEX) on file. I was surprised at the response provided given the various discussions held regarding my party reservation. It is a shame that I have to dispute something pertaining to my birthday. I am a CEO for an organization and pride myself in my ethics and clear communication. This is not the experience a customer should have.Desired Settlement: Pay quoted bill which would be $420.00 instead of the $545.59

Hello [redacted],

Good day, I want to start by saying that I sincerely apologize for your experience here at Don Coqui. We pride ourselves

on exceptional service and in this case we failed to deliver.

Please be advised that it was specified that we were unable to seat incomplete parties, which is why we were unable

to seat your guests at the 8:00pm reservation time. In addition, our promotional deal was misunderstood. Our promotion

is 2 for $300.00 (Rum or Vodka), your purchase was of a Vodka and Tequila.

Lastly, when we last spoke you had said you would let me know whether you wanted to go with the promotion, which is why it was not specified in the notes. Again we truly are sorry for your experience and would like to offer you a gift card in the amount of $150.00for your inconvenience.

It is our highest priority to provide each and every one of our guests with the best level of service, and a memorable experience, we hope that you will give us another shot at helping you create great memories.

DON COQUI

Review: I celebrated my birthday at Don Coqui Lounge last week and had an amazing time!

The complaint is sadly due to the fact of what happened the morning after.

Upon entering the club, we were asked by [redacted], the hostess, who was so accommodating and wonderful being that there was a mix up with our reservations, to pay in advance for our bottle service, which is perfectly understandable. Our total was about $650 and we paid $700 cash. We were told that our waitress would give us change later on during the night. Having such a good time, my boyfriend and I forgot about the whole thing and left. I had asked him about the change when we got home around 4am and we realized it was too late to go back and we would just call when they opened to get it all sorted.

When we called that morning we were directed to a [redacted] named [redacted]. When I explained the reason for my call, his automatic response was "your calling me about $50 bucks? really?"

He was so rude and carried on to say things such as, "there's nothing I can do, your calling me a day later to ask me about $50 bucks, I don't even know who you are" I was shocked at the way he was speaking to a "customer" and I let him know, and his response was "well I don't know what you expect me to do". So I asked him if he could contact the host that was there that night so she can verify the fact that change was in fact due, or talk to our waitress just to verify that she did not give us our change. His response was "Well I don't have her number" His dismissive attitude caused my frustration to escalate, and I told him that the way he was speaking was inappropriate towards a customer saying that he "could not do anything." Though that may have been the case, being in the industry myself, I would think it is in EVERY manager's job description to reassure their customers to let them know everything that can be done would be, and if all else fails THEN I would take the loss.

In the end, we left off as he would try and see what he can do and call us back next Friday.

Friday came and of course no call, so I called and asked to speak to him. As soon as he came on the phone he said "yeah I asked the waitress, she said she gave the guy the change and he told her to keep it & gave her an extra $20 and you guys ordered another bottle" I reassured him that was not my party, since I never requested a third bottle. His response was "ugh. please hold." when he came back on the phone he decided to go back to his old speech and said "well I don't know, there's nothing I can do , your calling me a day later for $50 bucks"

At this point I told him that we just dropped $700 on his club and $50 change is not that big of a deal since he kept implying that I was being cheap. Having heard enough of his highly uneducated and unprofessional responses, I told him to keep the money, it was not worth the way I was being spoken to, and that I was going to write horrible reviews and contact the Revdex.com and let them know the way he handled the situation. His response "Go ahead! If that's what you have to do to make yourself happy!" I'm sure the [redacted] of the place would be thrilled to know [redacted], a person he hired to run his business, is encouraging customers to write bad reviews and file complaints instead of trying to deal with the problem himself.

Unfortunately, even though the DJ, ambiance, and overall night was great, I will never come back to this place in fear of what else could happen should [redacted] be in charge.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a formal apology from [redacted] for the way he handled himself since he was rude and disrespectful to me over the phone.

I would also like the change owed to me.

Review: I was there on June [redacted], my fiance and I went there to eat dinner and see a performance that they were having. The bill for dinner came up to $74.00. I signed for that and they gave me a receipt and I kept that. Later around 12am we moved to a reserved table for bottle service. At the end of the night when the bill came to sign it said $837.00, I told the hostess to charge my credit card $400 and gave her $440 in cash. She said even though it said $837 my card would be charged the $400. It was that when she swiped the card it totaled everything not to worry that I could sign it. I didn't thing anything of it. I've been to Don Coqui's plenty of times and never had a problem. Two days later I see that I had a pending charge of $837. I went personally to Don Coqui and spoke to [redacted] who told me not to worry that it showed $837 because that was the total charge and that it was pending so they couldn't do anything anyway. That when it cleared it would say $400 and if there was a problem they would be more than happy to accommodate me and fix the problem. The next day when the charge cleared, they did not charge the $837, nor $400, I was charged $437. I called [redacted] and he told me to call [redacted] the accountant. When I did, first she try to brush me off without listening to the whole story which was confusing to explain. Then all she kept saying was she couldn't do anything without a receipt and couldn't help me. Granted I understand the concept of a receipt, but please also understand this is at 1:00 in the morning, bottle service, people are drinking having a good time and not really worrying about that the hostess didn't do her job. Who keeps bottle service receipts? plus when I didn't understand why it said $837 instead of $400 I asked and took the hostess word that she knew what she was doing and that all was okay. I told [redacted] that I didn't have the receipt but if I did it would still say $837 so what difference would that make if i'm arguing the $37, also Don Coqui has their copy. I wasn't given a copy, there were not 2 receipts, there was only one...then one I signed. This place is not at all family friendly as they claim. It just makes me wonder who else this has happened to and if they are not aware how much more money is this company making? With all the money this place makes I couldn't believe the accountants attitude. Yes, I signed for $837 and I'm lucky that my card was not charged the entire amount, on my behalf I am at fault for not asking for a detailed breakdown in writing because I was given one verbally, and if that's the case then the hostess should also know her job and should have done a breakdown without my request. What if they had charged me the entire amount, who's to say that then she didn't pocket $440? Being that there is nothing specific for either side to prove I can be arguing for much more, but i'm an honest person and expect others to be as well!Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my $37.

Sincerely,

I visited Don coqui in White plains NY for a night out with friends. The music was ok, and my friends and I were enjoying ourselves for the most part. We took selfies , and group pictures from our personal cell phones. I went with a group of 6 ladies. I am the only African American female out of my friends. At one point in the night I stepped away from my friends to get a drink at the bar ,during that time , the camera mAn gathered my friends and snapped s picture of them , without me in it. Granted I'm about 15lbs overweight and I'm African American , but that does not give Don Coqui the right to only want to advertise , white, and Spanish , " normal weight " ladies on their website!!!!!! If I'm good enough to spend my money in their , the camera man shouldn't pick and choose what type of females deserve to be displayed on their website. There are over weight African American bouncers working there to protect the club , but it seems as if they discriminate against the type of girls they chose to represent "their experience at the club" my guess is that its about ratings for them. So here is my personal Rating. They are very discriminatory and Racist ..
