This service center is something else. I have since taken it to another dealer’s service department. I told them what Mr. [redacted] said about it not being in gear and showed them how the [redacted] is behaving. They observed it popping out of gear and was able to replicate the issue on their own. They assured me that it is not my driving habits that is causing the issue and that there is, in fact, something wrong with the vehicle. They said it is likely a s[redacted]ronizer and will be repairing it soon.
Mr. [redacted] watched it pop out of gear twice and both times he insisted it was not in gear. I have no idea why they are being so obtuse about this issue, but I finally realized they either do not have the time or the competence to fix the issue, so they just blamed the issue on the driver. In February, the Don Davis technician even rode in the car with me and watched it pop out of gear. He agreed at that time that it was in gear and popping out and has since abruptly changed his mind. I posted a video online of the [redacted] popping out of gear. I encourage anyone reading this to watch the video and make up your own mind. I showed the video to Mr.L[redacted] as well. According to the Service Department at Don Davis, this is normal behavior for a manual transmission. I disagree, and apparently my new service department does as well.

As for this complaint, I have found a competent [redacted] service department elsewhere and will not be needing anything more from Don Davis, ever.

and could not verify the customers concern.  We contacted [redacted] and they instructed us to change the transmission fluid just in case this could have something to do with the customers complaint.  The technician test drove the vehicle again and still could not duplicate the concern.  He did find that if you did put the shift lever all the way in 1st gear it would pop out of gear.  The technician then contacted me and asked me to test drive the vehicle explaining the customers concern to me.  I test drove the vehicle and could not get it to pop out of 1st gear at that time either.  We contacted the customer and had him come in to pick the vehicle up.  When he arrived to pick the vehicle up he asked to test drive the vehicle with someone and I rode with him at that time.  He drove around the lot stopping and taking off in 2nd and 3rd gear then going to 1st with me observing the shifting.  There was 1 time that it did pop out of 1st and as I told the customer I watched the gear shift lever not going all the way into 1st gear.  I explained this to the customer but he still insisted there is an issue.  The [redacted] Warranty states that we have to be able to duplicate a concern to repair it and we have not been able to duplicate his stated concern with the transmission.  We have explained this to the customer.  The [redacted] Warranty is good at all [redacted] dealers and the customer is free to seek a 2nd opinion.  Let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.     Thank you,   [redacted] Don Davis Dealerships Lake Jackson, TX  Main    [redacted] Direct  [redacted] Fax       [redacted]

vehicle on 9/4/15.   The customer unfortunately had to return to have it repaired but we did complete it.  We have since followed up with the customer and verified that it was ok after that visit.
