To Whom It May Concern; This is in regards to the complaint you receivedThe customer brought her snowthrower in to my shop for repairsWe work on equipment in the order that it comes inWhen we first looked at the snowthrower we noticed right off that it was missing a needle in the carburetorWe explained that we had to order itWe soaked and cleaned the carburetor twice to avoid the customer the expense of a new carburetor if all possibleThis did not workBefore ordering the new carburetor we let the customer know that the cost of a new carburetor alone was over $She wanted to be notified if repairs were going to be over $The customer told us to go ahead and order itSo I didI also found a broken bolt in the motor and a gasket needed to be replacedThe total labor hours was hoursI first charged her an hour and a half for labor and the cost of the partsShe didn't like this, so I changed the labor to hour and the cost of parts which brought the bill to $She told us she had to talk to her son and see what he has to sayThe customer then called me and told me to take the new parts off her machine and to call it evenI told her no, that she would still owe me aproximately $The carburetor had to be special ordered for her I can not just give her the snowthrower and parts and also a warranty for the price of the carburetorAs it is I only charged her for hour on a hour jobMy labor rate is $an hourI did not charge her for the job of repairing the broken bolt or repairing the gasket

carburetor. We explained that we had to order it. We soaked and cleaned the carburetor twice to avoid the customer the expense of a new carburetor if all possible. This did not work. Before ordering the new carburetor we let the customer know that the cost of a new carburetor alone was over $90. She wanted to be notified if repairs were going to be over $100. The customer told us to go ahead and order it. So I did. I also found a broken bolt in the motor and a gasket needed to be replaced. The total labor hours was 3 hours. I first charged her an hour and a half for labor and the cost of the parts. She didn't like this, so I changed the labor to 1 hour and the cost of parts which brought the bill to $189.41. She told us she had to talk to her son and see what he has to say. The customer then called me and told me to take the new parts off her machine and to call it even. I told her no, that she would still owe me aproximately $90. The carburetor had to be special ordered for her.  I can not just give her the snowthrower and parts and also a warranty for the price of the carburetor. As it is I only charged her for 1 hour on a 3 hour job. My labor rate is $68 an hour. I did not charge her for the job of repairing the broken bolt or repairing the gasket.
