Don Jenkins' & Son Ford- Mercury, Inc. Reviews (1)

I purchased a car under the agreement that there have been no alterations to the car and it shows signs that it has been. Along with a safety concern. On May 17, 2012, I purchased a [redacted] (Vin: [redacted])from Don Jenkins Carolina [redacted], salesman [redacted] for $12,500. The total purchase price was $18,494.00. I put $5,000 Cash down payment and the rest was financed through [redacted]. Upon purchasing I noticed that the car had a "kick back" and brought it back to be looked at by their service department. At that time, they told me that they had sent their transmission specialist home for the day and I left my[redacted] with them for about 3-4 days. Don Jenkins Carolina [redacted] sent me home with a new [redacted] convertible to use as a rental while they were looking over my car. After the service department looked over my car for several days they stated that everything was alright and that all future repairs would need to be done at a[redacted] dealership because "[redacted]s were their specialty". Later, the passenger side blinker went out. I replaced that at the beginning of 2014 and it has been spontaneously coming on and off in the past 6 months. The blinker works spontaneously and the head light on that same side is dimmer than the driver's side, which has been thought to be an electrical issue. The flood lights are also cracked, but still function properly. Upon taking it to the[redacted] dealership they stated that it looked like the front side of the grill was zip tied, the clips were broken, radiator is bent, and headlight was unattached on the passenger side all from looking at it without taking it apart. Also, when I "cut the wheel" as if to turn into a tight parking spot on the right, the car has completely shut off. Since the car cut off I have not tried to re-enact that due to a possible safety issue, but it does make noises and feels different. There is also a check engine light that pops on spontaneously as well. The code reads that it has to do with an Oxygen sensor, 1 & 2, which was replaced by Don Jenkin's on March 5,2012 before I purchased the vehicle. The[redacted] dealership did not want to do a thorough look through and I was turned away by the service department at the [redacted] Dealership. I do have an extended warranty that I purchased for $2,200 through [redacted]. Desired SettlementI believe that all of the issues described above are a safety concern. Not only for my safety but other drivers on the road, pedestrians, and passengers. Initially I would like to know all of the issues that this vehicle has to make an educated decision. Upon a thorough evaluation, I would like to either have the car replaced for equal value at the time I purchased it, have Don Jenkin's Carolina Ford buy back this car for the original purchase price and pay me for the amount I have paid on this vehicle to able me to purchase a solid vehicle else where, or possibly have it repaired. I purchased the car with their word stating that it had no issues, repairs, or hidden damages, and it seems that that was not correct or honest.
