Incorrect Inspection Reports
I recently had a 4-Point Inspection and Windstorm Mitigation Inspection performed by Don Meyler Inspections a/k/a DMI. I am completely dissatisfied with this company and in particular, the inspector that came to my home. I have a hip roof and the inspector said the roof was "other" which results in no premium discount. The inspector also gave me an unsatisfactory for the roof but then said that the roof has 8-9 years left. The roof has double wraps and is in good condition. There are many other errors in the report and because of it, I'm being told I can only get insured through Citizens and would lose the discounts I am presently receiving. My home is only 22 years old and is in excellent condition. I would not recommend this company.

Don Meyler performed an incomplete and inaccurate home inspection resulting in a higher insurance policy and finance loss On Sept 11, a home inspection was paid for and performed by Don Meyler Inspections, also known as DMI Audit Services(intentionally named different so other customers can't complain)The inspector was [redacted] The inspection was not completed accurately and completely The inspection did not included my shutter permit in the report, even though I provided official documentation from the City of [redacted] also inaccurate assigned my roof type on the report They gross inaccuracies resulting in a higher insurance premium and finance loss I have contacted a lawyer to file a small claims suit to recover tho lossesMy desired resolution is a refund for the cost of the home inspection, which is $

I had a pt inspection performed by DMI All was well, passed, got insurance Years later when selling, a house inspector pointed out that the outdoor electrical panel didn't meet code because it was less than feet from a parallel wallHow did that pass [redacted] ptinspection I asked? Well it shouldn't have, he said The electrician confirmed it was the pt inspector's role to know that; we moved the entire panel at great expense to us We wouldn't have even BOUGHT this house with this red flag

My inspection was done by Jeffrey Wand I found him to be rude, condescending and impatientI would never use this company again and would not recommend them Jeffrey asked me questions about my doors and shutters but refused to give me time to produce the requested documents showing that they were impact rated, thus making my inspection uselessMy insurance agent tells me that if I use his report, my insurance costs would double A waste of $

I am an insurance agentI have been using DMI for over yearsThey are always very friendly and helpfulI can always count on the report being accurateI never have any of the insurance companies come back asking for more pictures or anything of the sortI enjoy working with them and I know that once I send over a customer to them they are in good handsI appreciate all that they do and would not be able to do my job without themI highly recommend them to all agents and well as homeowners

I had a great experience with this companyFrom the ladies in the office scheduling the appointment to the emails I received explaining the price and what was expected of me for the appointmentThat was very helpful
Esnell *** was my inspectorHe was very polite, patient, and professionalHe called ahead of the appointment and was even early which was great for meHe was easy to communicate with and was able to answer the questions I hadPleasant experienceHighly recommend

This company is absolutely aweful They approved our wind protect coverage for doors and windows years ago We changed insurance coverage in February of this year and required re-inspection The Don Meyler company would not provide with the information they required It took months of repeated calls and emails and finally my insistence that I speak to the president of the company to get * response He arranged a conference call with the inspector to get the exact information required I provided it to them that afternoon and it still three weeks and multiple emails to the president to get final approval They claim they have am *+ rating from you, but our insurance agent told us that they have had many problems similar to ours in the past with this company

Very disappointed with the serviceFound them deceitful and they didn't make it right! Turns out them stating they require access to and in the attic meant the home owner, a senior citizen, was to go into the attic and move the insulation to inspect the roof attachment detailWithout the detail, their report is deemed useless, but of course it was paid In full ahead of timeNot only was I not advised in advance of the requirement, but I was not advised as the inspection was carried outI only discover d this when the report was issued incompleteHow do they expect a senior citizen to go up in attic and crawl a limited access area to pull aside the insulation? Of course, had I known in advance, I would have contacted some other companyWorse of all, there was no refund or credit issued, and they seem surprised I have an issue with the whole thingGo elsewhere to show DMI this is just not right!
