DON SNIDER ROOFING, INSULATION, SIDING, & GUTTERS LLCYANKEE ROADLIBERTY TOWNSHIP, **IO 45044OFFICE 513-777-5581/FAX [email protected] 19, 2018Revdex.comReference Customer Information: [redacted] D [redacted] , ** ***Daytime Phone: [redacted] E-mail: On October 10, Don Snider Roofing entered into a contract with the above customer to install a new roof and to patch and coat the box gutters On October 7, [redacted] had sent an email asking for all the specification that was going to be completed on the roof and gutters This is her original notes for the gutters:Don felt the box gutters were in good condition so he wrote back to her that we would just “Patch and Coat” them and that is what the contract says. Our contract says just to “Clean and Reseal using aluminum fiber coating” and we gave a Year Warranty on the gutter coating We never offered or said anything about scraping out the old coating.Copy of Our Contract for Gutters:Don Snider Roofing was contacted by [redacted] on January 19, stating she had a very bad leak and again on January asking why we had not been out which we explained there was a delay due to the winter weather On January my son Matthew went out and seen it was not a roof leak but the box gutters was the problem It was his understanding that he was talking to Mr [redacted] but in an email dated February 2, [redacted] stated it was not Mr [redacted] but then in her letter to the Revdex.com she states it was? Copied from her email: The conversation between Matt and Dr [redacted] (not "Mr [redacted] ") was not as you describedDr [redacted] is happy to speak with you and provide his account, as the one you relayed is not accurate.Matthew asked the gentleman who said he was her husband “had he noticed the leak before?” He said no at first (which would indicate it was an ice damming due to weather) but then he changed the story saying they noticed it before but they normally don’t go into that room Matthew explained that the lower rear addition box gutter was leaking either from an ice dam or could have been from the new addition had settled or a downspouts clogged and any of those could have caused the leak Dr [redacted] understood exactly what Matthew was saying and that nothing we did or didn’t do caused that leak Then Matthew explained that the gutter coating only had a year warranty per the contract and out of warranty so he would have an estimate wrote up for relining the box gutters and sent over to them On January 29, the estimate was emailed to them to reline the box gutters using a mil rubber adding drop tubes for additional draining totaling $ [redacted] called the office and talked with the receptionist, we explained everything to her what was found, that her warranty period was only year and the leak was not covered After ½ hour of discussing the gutters not under warranty and her story changing several times (she even changes it on the responses to the Revdex.com – see below) on when the leak was discovered Because she was not getting the answer she wanted her story would change My office called me and I responded right back to [redacted] on February 2nd by email explaining again everything that our office had said and done Then again on February 5th telling her we would be leaving the country until February 18th and would get with her then I have all the emails that were sent to her Our office has not misunderstood her or was rude in any way, she just won’t except that the work performed is out of warranty and the leak was not caused because of itNeedless to say we can continue going back and for about what everyone said but that doesn’t change the fact of her year warranty on coating the gutters ONLY which is clearly written on the contract The roof shingles offer a limited lifetime warranty and a year on the workmanship for the new roof only. There are so many reasons as to why the box gutters could have leaked “Acts of God” – ice damming, new addition settling or gutter cleaning The most common problem for leaking gutters and downspouts would be lack of maintaining them by being cleaned out at least once a year Sincerely, Don & Jane Snider

To whom it may concern:We have went over and beyond to be ontop of responding to Ms*** in a timely manner and feel that we haveWe have sent a crew out and after the Crew Leader explaining what the problem actually was, and it was nothing to do with our workmanship, at that time the gentleman
of the house seemed to understand and was expecting us to give him a estimate to do work that needed to be doneMs*** has contacted the office and no matter what myself said to her she just was not happy and would change her story over and over again, MrsSnider is out of the country but was able to email Ms*** and did fully explain everything to her and it was not no problem what so ever when she wrote back and was still unhappy MrsSnider said that she would not be back into the country until a later date and would talk with her and her lawyer then, being away she has no way to look at the paperwork or to sit down with the homeowners its not to put them off because they are not important, our customers are very important and of course if we are in the wrong we will do what it takes to make it rightWe do stand behind our work 100% on this job and we do know that we have returned calls in a very timely manner even with it being winter time. Please let us know what needs to be done

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The roof and gutter work has been inspected by another roofing companyThe gutters were never scraped or cleaned before applying the sealant, which was described in the contract agreementThus, the product never adhered to the gutters, and water has leaked through and caused damage to the gutters and woodThe breach of contract, as we expected this to be done properly and is a workmanship issue, is not resolvedThe company sent someone who stated that this (the sealant) would never have workedDr*** (my husband) spoke with the representative at length about this, and was told that he would speak with Don and try to come up with a solutionThis conversation has been misrepresented, and the company has been completely unaccountableFor example, I received a phone call from the representative of the company prior to his visit and he explained he would not leave that day without resolving the issueI have consistently stated the problems in a succinct and articulate manner, and been specific in my request to have this issue addressed by Don Snider RoofingI have tried to work with Andrea and Stacey in the office, but both were unwilling to accept that this work was not done appropriatelyTheir communication was inconsistent, and throughout the process I felt they did not do due diligence to investigate my concerns, document why they completely dismissed my damage and the poor work, or present evidence to demonstrate the contraryI have offered documentation and photographs of this damage and poor workmanship to the company, and can also upload this to the Revdex.com claim. I suggested a meeting with our attorney before it became clear the company refuses to accept or acknowledge these issuesSimply put, the company is unwilling to work with us, and has not stood behind their workWe need third-party assistance to move this forward. I have to pay another company to this work because it was done so poorly, as well as have a contractor fix the structural damage the leaks have causedI am so disappointed in their inability to work with me, and the clear lack of value they place on customer service.

We believe they did install the metal that leaked because they left it unpainted and we had to ask them to paint it.  They did come out and patched the area that was leaking (after several calls, no shows and cancellations) but it continues to leak. I waste 1 hour every time they set up a meeting on site and then cancel or don't show due to my travel time. I am frustrated with their lack of interest in resolving the problem. Now they want to use the fact that I filed a complaint as a reason for not resolving the issue. I certainly have the feeling they do not intend to resolve the complaint. I guess it will remain as unresolved. [redacted]

I, [redacted], appreciate [redacted] making that time available to meet with us but due to my business schedule I cannot be available at that time. If he would like to schedule a meeting in the 5-6 o'clock hour or a weekend, I would be happy to accept. We had the problem area fixed by another contractor who told us the wall flashing was improperly installed (it was not secured to the building). [redacted] insists that wall flashing was not installed by his company, we say it was because we remember asking his contractor to paint it because it was bare metal - there was no bare metal on the house prior to that. We are pleased with the rest of the work [redacted]'s company did for us as we are not aware of any other leaks and it looks very attractive. I see no reason to keep this complaint open any longer.

[redacted] will be available to show [redacted] &  [redacted] the difference in wall flashing verses step flashing and review the contract where the wall flashing was not replaced and not on the contract to be replaced on Tuesday July 7th between 12-1:00 pm.  ?

On April 13, 2015
[redacted] Snider Roofing received a call from [redacted] stating that she had a
roof leak.  We had...

replaced her roof in
February 2013 so we sent our roofing crew out to repair the leak.  Upon inspecting the leak they found a small
hole in the counter flashing.  The crew
showed them the hole and explained that the counter flashing was not replaced
when they replaced the roof.  The step flashing
is always replaced but the counter flashing goes into the brick and normally
never replaced unless requested by the customer which it was not.  But since the crew was there they sealed the
hole and painted the counter flashing to cover the sealant for her at no
charge.  She asked about the interior
damage and was instructed to call the office.
I spoke with
[redacted] and explained the counter flashing was not part of the roof contract
and would not be covered under our workmanship warranty.  Her father contacted me and upon trying to
explain that counter flashing is not normally replaced but reused he was not
understanding and stating we did replace the flashing which was the step
flashing.  So I asked him if we could set
up a time for [redacted] to meet with them and show them what counter flashing is
verses the step flashing.  We set up the
meeting for Thursday April 30th at 6:00 pm and a thunderstorm broke
out that day and we had to call and canceled.
[redacted] rescheduled for May 9th.
I had plans to go out of town but I didn’t call them to till that
weekend and left a message to reschedule.
Unfortunately
they filed a complaint with the Revdex.com so at this time no further actions are
required by us since we repaired the counter flashing hole for them at no
charge.
