Don WIlliamson Nissan Reviews (9)

Don Williamson Nissan in Jacksonville, NC is the most unethical, dishonest and irresponsible dealership I've ever used in years of buying new carsThe totally lied to me about the trade in of my Nissan pickup, saying I needed a new engineIt was in prestine condition with only 46k milesAfter I signed the contract, I was told it was just a simple exhaust problem and NOT the engineI would have never traded it in if they would have told the truthThey just wanted my truck because they were falling all over themselves of how perfect it was and could make a large, quick profit, which they didDON'T EVER USE THEM

I've never written a review on car dealerships, restaurants etc but I have to do this one for future customers so they'd know what to expect before stopping at this car dealership to buy a car or for car maintenance I'm about to leave the country for almost 1yr so having just purchased a brand new car in 2015, *** (20k miles) I was initially interested in just selling and buying another car when I got back I eventually settled on a trade down Walked into Don Williamson Nissan, sales representative *** was working the parking lotAfter parking, he proceeded with the usual sales pitch, of course I was more interested in what Don Williamson Nissan would offer for my car but all the same I condoned his aggressive sales pitch It was late, so I remembered a car I'd seen on there website, a 5yr old *** with over 65k miles listed $19, No notable issues during the short test drive
Anyway, to shorten the long story the deal was for $18k for *** and $25k for *** The following day, I took the vehicle for an inspection and fair market value evaluation at separate locations at another car dealership and by an auto service technicianThey both estimated the price to be between $14K-$16k I immediately called and texted in *** to request a carfax report and for more information on this car He initially replied my text claiming it was his day off so I drove to the dealership and as expected he was there Where's the carfax for this car?, as he was busy trying to head towards the cashier while asking if I had brought the check Again, he avoided questions concerning their car then excused himself claiming he had other engagement
Day three at the car dealership, i'm becoming impatient so as soon as *** asked about the loan, I demanded the carfax and proceeded to state that the findings from the inspection The once "calm" salesman switched tones and states, "i'm sorry buddy but it's now your car and you owe us money so you need to head back to the bank and get us our check" It's not going to happen, your car is overpriced and it's in an okay condition, if you ain't willing to review this contract i'd like to cancel the contract, pay the restock fee and get my vehicle back Remember it's only been days since I walked into this dealership but *** insists they've already paid off my car to the lienholder and it's now their car so if i'm not going to get the check for them, he'll reposses the car on the spot, mess my credit for 7yrs and I'll have to call a taxi to pick me up then he proceeds to walk off and call the branch manager
"What's the problem", he asks All I wanted at this moment was to cancel the agreement and either get another car or get my car back Normally, the manager is supposed to be reasonable but I guess the salesmen and saleswomen at don williamson nissan learn from their boss as mr mfanager proceeds to state, he has already paid off my car, it's my car so unless I wanna *** my credit, I need to bring them a check
In a lapse of judgement, after 2hrs of shouting and the manager making me read out loud certain lines in my contract, I needed to be at work so I opted for a loan application through the dealership assuming we'd fix issues with this contract Same weekend, drove the car to Raleigh, NC a 2.5hr drive away everything overheats in this car, outdated gps, missing floor mats, bluetooth not working, etc and of course the favorite part the super loud engine, I have to turn on the music louder the whole drive After the weekend, I called the loan processor, *** Credit Union ( I got alot to say about them too) requesting to halt the loan application until the dealership has handled my concerns with the "certified preowned" carthe bank pretty much said that's none of their business, I need to contact the car dealership to work everything out coz the loan was almost being approved I managed to stopby a *** credit union branch and requested they cancel the loan application but within a few days, I received loan paperworkwhen I called the bank, all they'd tell me was "if you want to refinance you can but your loan has already been approvedThe finance manager wasn't willing to resubmitted the application
At the end of the day, the crooks at don williamson nissan and their partner *** credit union shoved a *** car down my throat once in a while when I do have issues with the car, I tend to drive the car to the branch for a voluntary repossesion Car buying experience shouldn't be headache, but these two companies managed to effortlessly do so
DO NOT CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH DON WILLIAMSON NISSAN OR *** CREDIT UNION and if you do and you end up in the same situation i'm currently in, you are definately stupid and deserve it I wish someone had warned me

Don Williamson Nissan in Jacksonville, NC is the most unethical, dishonest and irresponsible dealership I've ever used in 50 years of buying new cars. The totally lied to me about the trade in of my 1995 Nissan pickup, saying I needed a new engine. It was in prestine condition with only 46k miles. After I signed the contract, I was told it was just a simple exhaust problem and NOT the engine. I would have never traded it in if they would have told the truth. They just wanted my truck because they were falling all over themselves of how perfect it was and could make a large, quick profit, which they did. DON'T EVER USE THEM.....

A nightmare. We left Don Williamson Nissan with our dream Truck. Within weeks, things were starting to change. Calls to us about changing the deal from loan company to loan payments, apr, msrp to month on loan. You name it, it kept going up. Slowly this was starting to seem odd and turn into a nightmare. The third time in for paperwork, weeks after the deal was "over", we had to go in again. We decided once the changes, again, sky rocketed, to return the truck to them. Now we go home with nothing. Struggling to get a loan to get our trade in back with bumerous failures, we were finally able to get something with a much smaller loan than we wanted. We didnt have a choice. Don Williamson then, proceeded to contact us with extremely unprofessional standards and demanded we reverse the paid off loan and we could get our trade in back. Devastated, we could not. They treated us with such disrespect. The receptionist would hang up on us and often bad mouth the finance managers and sales managers, she was unhelpful in trying to reach them. She did not hesitate to tell us that they were in sight but would choose to not answer our calls. They never tried to help us refinance our trade in nor did they offer to be helpful in all aspect of this nightmare. They had our trade in for sale online and on their lot. If the deal was never final, as we thought it was, then how could you put it up for sale? Why would they pay off a trade in without a final sale? They could easily sell the trade in and leave us alone, especially after making us walk away empty handed and devastated of our experience. Instead they continue to cause us trouble. Desired SettlementLeave all alone and never do bussiness with or speak of them again.

I am making a complaint on the incompetence of the DON williamson nissan dealer ship and failure to complete a proper oil change. With the completion of my oil change in the morning of Saturday August 16 I proceed to leave the dealership. Later that evening as me and my wife headed out to dinner and a movie I discovered the negligence and total disregard for safety as my car begin to smoke as I began to walk away from the car to join my wife. As I proceed to inspect the severity of the situation when I popped the hood of my car and to see that the oil Cap was not located in its proper place screwed tightly on top of the engine. In occurrence with the top missing there was oil all over the engine and bottom of hood. I was able to locate the top which was in between the side of the engine With not knowing how u change oil had spilled on top and out of the engine. I called the dealership but by the time I called they were closed. So I called my sales associate and gave him the whole scenario of the situation [redacted] is his name and I asked him to get me in touch with someone and he could not produce results. So I let the sales associate [redacted] know that even though I did not know how much oil was left in the engine I could not leave the car where it was and he suggested that I drip it the dealership and that they would provide service and compensation for the issues that occurred. I also directed him to contact me when he could get in touch with his superiors to update them on the situation Desired SettlementI'm seeking replacement and compensation for the inconvenience and lack of service and endangerment of my family Business Response We did get the vehicle back to the dealership. The issue was handled by the service manager, resolved and then test driven with the service manager and the customer. We compensated the customer with 2 years of VIP (free oil changes) and the technician that worked on the vehicle was let go.

Sold a vehicle with a safety recall.Vehicle was purchased on September 13, 2013 cash sale. On December 25, 2013 sunroof separated from vehicle on highway with my two young children in my vehicle. Dealership told me there was nothing that they would do cause sale was AS IS. Was not told that sunroof was after market (company stated they had no way of knowing this information.)(Would have purchased different vehicle knowing this information.) Was sent 45 minutes to a shop to find out that sunroof was part of safety recall (recall started October 8, 2010). It is now April 3, 2014 and I still have no sunroof.Desired SettlementWould like sunroof replaced and vehicle reinspected for free or free exchange of vehicle since after market sunroof was not brought to my attention before purchase.

Bought a sequoia for what we thought was a good price. Turns out the car wasn't even worth half what we paid for it.We purchased a 2005 Toyota Sequoia for $17k, not including the trade-in of our previously owned 2002 GMC Sierra. We traded our GMC for $6k, making the total for our Sequoia $11k. We were contacted by our local Toyota dealership for them to possibly purchase our Sequoia from us. We asked for the Carfax from the Don Williamson dealership and were told that there were no issues with the car base do. The Carfax. We had to find out from [redacted] Toyota that there was an accident on the Carfax for our Sequoia. This development decreases the value of our Sequoia from $17k that we bought it for to $10k, of which [redacted] was only willing to buy from us for $6.5k. We are a 1 income family and we went from a vehicle that had no accidents but little room to a vehicle that was priced two times higher then it was worth. We were reassured that there were no issues and no accidents on this Sequoia and now we can't resell for more then half what we paid for this vehicle. Our decision would have been dramatically different had we been given all of the information. Desired SettlementMy request for this issue is to be reimbursed for the difference that the car is worth and what we paid, or a reasonable amount close to the difference. A reasonable amount would be between $7k & $8k reimbursement. I understand as a business you need to make money, but that does not mean that it be at the expense of your customers. We were screwed on this deal, either by ignorance or plain robbery. I believe there was fraud involved since not all of the information was given when the purchase was made. Business Response Every vehicle that we sell at Don Williamson Nissan is put through our service department with a vehicle inspection and a decision to wholesale or retail the vehicle. We also pull an [redacted] on every vehicle when we trade for it or buy it. I have a copy of the [redacted] for the 2005 Sequoia. When we sold the vehicle it does show there was a minor accident reported in 2009 to the original owner. When we sold the vehicle it was a One Owner car, and still has an [redacted] score of 94, similar vehicles of this age would score between 68-82. In the State of NC if there is an accident reported exceeding 25% of its value, then it is something that has to be disclosed to the dealer as it's traded in and then that information would have been passed on the the next buyer. There was absolutely no fraud involved. There is no further assistance we can give on this transaction, other that try to help trade them out if that's the route they would like to take.
