Done Right Home Inspection Reviews (%countItem)

We are in the process of purchasing a home and needed a home inspection. John was there before me and ready to get to work. He was thourough, and answered all my questions and pointed out issues we missed and even suggested ways to prevent future issues. John had all of our inspection information completed and sent to us thevery next day. I would highly recommend John to anyone looking for a home inspector.

inspection was satisfactory. But would not recommend this company. Leaked info. to the sellers and then sellers turned around and told my realtors that a grading issue I had against the house wasn't on the inspectors list. the list they had know way knowing it wasn't. that goes to me and our realtor only. unethical practice. so I called Done Right Home Inspection ,LLC and he said he did talk to the seller.

He came to inspect a home before I purchased. The home had obvious issues that he neglected to find. He will now not return my calls or emails
His company supposedly has a 200% moneyback guarantee. He also supposedly stands behind his product. He told us that the furnace was " in normal working order." Soon after we moved in, we noticed significant problems. We contacted a heating and cooling company and they sent me a report that said

"
I completed a visual inspection of heating and cooling system and duct work. I inspected only the items that were exposed (did not review items within bulkheads, behind sheetrock, etc.). The following items need to be corrected:

Plenum is leaking air
Condensate drain on furnace is pinched
Condensate drain on air conditioner is partially pinched
Return air is not connected in hallway of basement
There is not a switch on the furnace and the wiring is not in conduit
Exhaust pipe of furnace is not sized correctly for the length of the run and number of elbows (eight elbows exist)
Pipe intake air outside
Return air drop is pinched in the middle, and is rusty and corroded from prior leak on humidifier

Estimate to repair above noted items (only)*:
Materials:
Labor:
$580 + Tax
$1,150 + Tax

Other items that need to be addressed in mechanical room by the appropriate contractor:
Radon pipe is running through the return air duct. It needs to be removed from the air duct and rerouted.
Electrical junction box above return duct is not secured to anything and has no cover on it.
There is an outlet laying on top of the return duct."

So, we are now faced with at least $1700 worth of expense to fix, not counting the last three things mentioned above.

In the outside and the majority if not all of these things were on items that were exposed at the time of inspection... Not hidden or enclosed.

I've read this companies warrantee several times and understand what is covered and what is not. I am owed retribution.

I also wish to complain about the owner of this company and his customer service.

I emailed him on July 6.

This was my email

John,

I'd like you to give me a call on this and come to some resolution. This should've been caught on the home inspection.

We have moved into the house, with a significant amount of repairs we now need to do.

I did not get a return phone call or email. He simply ignored me.

On July 31, I sent this second email

John, this is the second message that I sent, and didn't get a reply to the first one. I need to hear back from you.

I was courteous in both emails and simply expected a phone call to talk this over and come to resolution.

Instead, the first email got ignored.

Tonight I got this email

***: Please direct your attention to the inspection agreement, report preface and Standards of Practice, an example of the SOP can be found at www.homeinspector.org/standards/default.aspx. My attorney, *** has been copied on this reply. Further communication should be directed to him. Thank you.

So, instead of contacted me to try to work something out, he refers me to his lawyer. What kind of business am I dealing with? I would like to make a formal complaint with the Revdex.com.

Desired Outcome

I would like him to pay for the repairs, or give me his 200% moneyback guarantee, and I will take care of the difference.

Done Right Home Inspection Response

Document Attached***
I explained to *** that the furnace and air condition were working properly at the time of the inspection as explained in the inspection report. Determining anything beyond the proper operation is beyond the scope of a home inspection. Inspection agreement, Standards of Practice and the pertinent section of the report is attached.
