I am rejecting this response because: I have read Dr. Robert Dong’s statement.   I am rejecting his response. What Dr. Dong stated in his response was about the discount of the services fee only. What I want from Dr. Dong is to do the right thing and that is to waive my services fee of $1,797.30.  The reasons for this waive are: ·         Dr. Dong has done very poor job on my bridges and crowns resulting deep decay on many of my teeth. ·         Top of my bridge was scraped off so much by Dr. Dong that causes metal from the inside of the bridge to appear on top of the bridge.   ·         My bridge was punctured with a tool and caused a hole to the side of the bridge by Dr. Dong.   ·         White glue was left stuck to my gum and in between my teeth, makes it impossible to floss and brush which resulted in deep decay. ·         He kept working on my teeth even though he knew my annual dental coverage was already exhausted and then he billed me afterward. I was not informed of the billing till after the work is done.    I will not rest my case till Dr. Robert Dong waive my services fee of $1,797.30. Most sincerely, [redacted]

Review: Detail complaint:

This complaint is not about one time incident, however, it is about extremely poor dental work performed by Dr. Robert X. Dong for 18 (eighteen) years and was recently discovered on April 2016 through Dr. [redacted].

The damages were so severe that it has created major impact on my life (please see attached – Dr. [redacted] letter, list of finding, pictures, X-ray, treatment plan, office services fee and insurance records).

I couldn’t eat or sleep because I was in constant pain and not able to chew food on a daily basis.

• 97% of all my teeth are badly damaged from crowns and bridges that were cemented by Dr. Robert Dong. The crowns and bridges covered only half way around my teeth in which consequently resulted in deep decay. According to Dr. [redacted]’s exam on 04/26/2016, many of my teeth will be extracted due to damages caused by these crowns and bridges.

• Tooth #6 and #17 = Bridges came loose, Dr. Dong re-cemented back on, biting too high so he scraped so much off of bridges that it causes metal from the inside of bridges to appeared on the outside. These are new bridges and now it’s damaged by Dr. Dong. I paid so much money for these bridges and he destroyed it.

• Tooth#14, #15, #17, #20, #32 = White glue were left stuck on teeth, on gum-line and in between teeth by Dr. Robert Dong. With this glue blocking, it became impossible to floss and brush which resulted in severe decay on my teeth. This type of glue needs to be removed immediately by the dentist or it will cling on to teeth and won’t come off.

• Tooth#19 and #20 = a hole was punctured on bridge with tool by Dr. Robert Dong. I paid so much money for this bridge and he destroyed it. • Tooth#20 = on 05/18/2015, I was referred to Dr. [redacted] by Dr. Robert Dong to be seen for root canal. It hasn’t been a year since the root canal was treated and now is already broken. Dr. Dong knew it well that this tooth was in a bad shape but he still send me to Dr. Wong and I was charged $1,120.50 forDesired Settlement: Desire outcome:

I want Dr. Robert Dong to compensate $17,000.00 for the damage and waive my outstanding office fee of $1,797.30.

Response:

I have received your letter about Ms. [redacted] complaint. I am sorry to know she has numerous dental problem. Attached is a patient history report which include 2002 - 2016 detail billing and payment information from insurance and patient. During 2002 - 2016 Ms. [redacted] had 3 different insurance [redacted] and [redacted]. All the insurance only pay certain percentage of the service charged on the dental treatment. We did not charge Ms. [redacted] for any copayment for many years. Please see the attached patient history report. On 2013, we started collecting copayment from Ms. [redacted] since she has [redacted] insurance which request the dentist to collect copayment from the patient. Please refer to patient history report on 2013. We did 2 crown and 1 bridge. In order to help Ms. [redacted] to pay the copayment I reduced the crown fee from $800 to $400. Please see patient history report on March 14, 2013 to April 20, 2013. On the report on December 12, 2012 the normal fee is $800 for each crown. During 2013 we did another 3 crowns for Ms. [redacted] and we charged her $370 each. Please see report for July 28, 2013, August 24, 2013 and September 7, 2013. We did not bill the insurance because we knew it will be over the maximum. On the report you can see we billed the patient for $370 on the date we finished the crwon, July 28, 2013, August 24, 2013 and September 7, 2013. That mean we already know it will be over the maximum otherwise you will see a bill to the insurance for $400 each crown and receive a dental for payment (which will show on the report). Attached is the details Dental payment for 2013 crown charged $400 each where insurance pay $50 and the patient pay 50%. Ms. [redacted] first ten years in our office we write-off all the copayment from 2002 - 2009.
