This tour company is a complete travesty of a tour company. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BUSINESS. My elderly aunt (77) and uncle (78) visited the U.S. from Korea for the first time. They wanted to take a weeklong tour of Canada, NY and DC while here. We went with DongBu because this was what we thought was a reputable company. We paid $750 each for both of them to go on this trip. They had a horrible time, largely in part due to the number of "options" available. There was a standard trip option, and then the additional "option" which cost extra. The price was not the issue. It's that if you didn't opt for an option, the tour guide, Mr. K[redacted], would treat you like a second class citizen. As if you hadn't paid for the tour at all. It is clear this man works on commission. My aunt and uncle called us and told us that they were being treated like garbage by the tour guide because they hadn't wanted to go to the Niagara Fall option. It was because they were cold and it was wet out, not due to the price.

Afterwards, they were going to a restaurant and they were the first ones to show up. The tour guide told them to step aside and seated every other person of the tour group first. These are two elderly people, and they showed up early to get nice seats by the window. instead, they were relegated to a corner table in the back of the restaurant. For no reason other than the tour guide did not like them.

This was just a few of the instances where the tour guide showed them disfavor. The ultimate event happened on the last night of the tour. This tour guide stopped by the bus by The Plaza, told these two non-english speaking/reading elderly individuals to go walk around Central Park for 15 minutes and then return. I personally lived in NY for a number of years and loved to go to Central Park. I never in a million years would tell two non-english speaking tourists to go wander around Central Park without offering a landmark or some way to get back. Of COURSE they got lost. They were twenty minutes late to the rendezvous point and were told that the bus had left without them because they were late.

When they were understandably upset, the tour guide assured them they'd get them back to the drop off point where I (their niece) was waiting to pick them up. Meanwhile, he called to tell me they'd be late because they missed the bus. Of course this caused me some alarm, but he told me they'd get to a different drop off point and to meet them there. Little did I know that the reason they'd be late was because he was stopping to have dinner with a different tour group. Did he invite my aunt and uncle to have dinner (which they had missed because the bus left without them)? No. He put them on the second tour bus, told them to wait, and went back inside without further information to them about what was going on.

Finally, when the bus returned to the drop off point, he smugly informed me that he'd done everything he could to take care of them. I very vehemently told him that I knew exactly what he'd done, and would be sure to let everyone know about it.

This tour company, and in particular the tour guide Mr. K[redacted], are irresponsible, inconsiderate, money-grubbing scammers. Do not trust them with your relatives. Do not give them your money. Go to a different tour company.
