On Saturday 6/17/received email from *** our customer asking why the bill for their home insurance was sent to them, they thought it was to be mortgage billed.Responded on Monday 6/19/that we had them as direct billed and ask if they would like to have this changes to mortgage billed. On 6/
received a response from *** *** asking for the change to mortgage billed.Responded on 6/21/that we go direct billed unless notified otherwiseThen went on to say that in reviewing the account if I moved there home to another carrier I could save them roughly $I went on to ask about updates on the house and a question about the wood burning stove. On 6/21/*** responded that the change sounded good and gave me the information on the updates of the house and about the wood burning stove. On 6/21/I asked that he confirm the mortgage and loan number. On 6/21/*** responded that he would have to confirm but thought it was another bank.On 6/21/I responded that I would wait to hear from him.On 7/8/received email from *** saying they had received a cancelation notice from original carrier and that they wanted to be mortgage billed.I had not switched them to mortgage billed with their current carrier as I did not want the bank to pay in full when I was moving the accountAt this point I was still awaiting confirmation of the mortgage clause to move them.On 7/18/received email from *** with part of the mortgage clause and loan #.On 7/18/responded that I would process the following day. On 7/19/The policy was issued with the wrong mortgage clause on itI had copied it from their existing policy. On 7/24/I emailed *** with a copy of the new policy and ask that he again confirm the Mortgage. On 7/25/The existing policy was canceled to match the effective date of the new policy 7/20/17. On 9/24/I received an email inter office that there was an issueOn 9/25/the policy was reinstated with the correct mortgage clause with no gap in coverageThe correct mortgage was billed. We always try our hardest to do what is best for the customerIn this case saving them around $However at the end of the day we did issue this with the incorrect mortgage clause causing the policy to cancel and then to have to be reinstatedThe insureds have been very good customers and very nice people over several years and I am sorry that this took place. Thanks *** *** Insurance*** *** ***
