On 7/3/patient was seen in our office for a toothacheA Root Canal was started and the patient was told the cost would be $At that time the patient made a $pmtOn 7/22/The Root Canal was done on tooth #On 7/27/a
$pmt was made by the patientOn 8/11/the patient advised our office that she now had insurance and asked if we could submit the root canal to themWe didOur system has an automatic fee schedule when we submit any claim to insuranceAt which time the claim was sent for $Knowing our office would make any adjustments neededOn 8/26/the patient was seen for a filling on tooth #which was also submitted to insOn 9/1/the patient was scheduled for a crown prep for tooth #At which time the tooth was prepped and an impression was taken to be sent to the lab to have a porcelain crown madeA temporary crown was placed to maintain space until the new crown would be inOn 9/2/the patient called and was having a toothache with what she felt was the root canal tooth that was finished on 7/22/Advised patient we could either start her on an antibiotic or we could work her into the schedule to check the toothPatient said no and she would be finding another dentistWe then asked the patient if she would becoming back to place the new crown, we would need to know in order to inform the lab not to process itShe said she did not want the crownWe then called the lab to cancel the crown in order to avoid lab feesThe claim had already been sent to the insurance cn the day the tooth was preppedSo we would need to wait until we received their payment and send the check back with a revised claim charging for the x-ray and the temporary crown instead of the original porcelain crownOn 9/8/the insurance comade a payment for the root canal in the amount of $On 10/9/a payment was made by the insurance cofor the crown in the amount of $We sent a new claim and the check back to them for re-processingThe patient has come by and called several timesEach time we have explained to the patient that until all claims are in and re-processed which does take time, we are unable to give her a final account balanceWe will be sending all refunds to the insurance coafter they have finished re-processing all claims
