I booked my move from Atlanta, GA to Silver Spring, MD for through MovingYou4Less (MY4L) They use Door to Door Moving Solutions as a third party vendor When I booked my move, I was told that my items would be delivered withing 3-days My items were picked up on Friday September 7, On Tuesday September 18th, I called to inquire about the move The customer service representative told me that they had not received a delivery date, so they placed my items in storage I told them that not only did I provide MY4L with a delivery date, but I provided their movers with a delivery date, and it was immediate They then put me on hold for minand I had to hang up I called back and the customer service representative had an attitude with me saying "we will process by next week and call you when we can deliver it" I sent an email that night to the owner of the company, who has yet to respond to my complaint Today is Tuesday September 25th, and when I called them today,

Let me start this off by saying that the end result was a successful moveI went with this Company because it was advertised that they had years of experience, that the company ran strict background checks on their employees, and that hiring the company would take the burden of the move off my shoulders by paying someone else to do itThis was not the case
Let me warn you in advance that that successful move was only due to the fact that I called in several favors and rented an additional truck at my own expense because the company didn't show up with the additional truck or required manpower, themselvesHere's how it all went downOne month prior to the move date, I spoke with a rep and we set a move out date of a Wednesday in SeptemberThe contents would sit on the truck Wednesday night, Thursday, and moon Fridaytruck was deemed necessary with company moversI paid the Deposit without worryI emphasized that the contents had to be out of the house by Thursday morning and would sit overnight until delivery on Fridaydays prior to the move, I call and update the content quantity - an additional truck is required & an additional manRep tells me everything is fine & that his OPS manager even reviewed it but can make it workI pay the additional Deposit without worryThe guys would be there on Wednesdayhours prior to the move, Dispatch calls me saying they'll be there on ThursdayMind you, I've told them from day that the move is on WednesdayMultiple calls to Dispatch, no one answersMy Reservations rep is also silent and won't respond to texts or callsI finally get a hold of Dispatch on Wednesday morning, they rush to fix it and tell me a driver is coming from Maryland and will be there with trucksWednesday 5pm, truck & guys show upman is the foreman (working for Door2Door), men are from Craigslist (of whom reeks of alcohol)Foreman tells me he never knew he needed trucksI argue with the Dispatch manager that I was supposed to have trucks, to which he responded, "even if we show up with a bicycle, we have fulfilled our duty"of the men quit before even starting the jobThe Foreman close the truck & is about to walk off until I plead with them to stayThey agreeI call in several favors & family members to come helpWe worked into the night Wednesday to get it doneThursday morning came and the Foreman rented an additional truck for the contentsI also rented an additional truck for the contents that wouldn't fit on the truckWe finished by 2pm Thursday, just as the Buyers did their final walk-through
We unloaded the Trucks on Thursday night, unexpectedly, as the Foreman informed us he had to do another job on Friday in VirginiaThere are several large issues with this company, here are a few of them that cause me to give you the strongest urging NOT to choose them:
First, the Reservations booker treats you like a Car salesman using pressure tactics and will not take No for an answerSecond, the Reservations booker will not answer your call after they've made the saleI have proof that I called him times in a day span, and he never answered or responded to my callsThird, the Dispatch will not answer your callWhen they do, they will tell you liesFor example, "he's almost there, he's just got to get an additional truck"When the Foreman showed up, he informed us he never told Dispatch that, and didn't know he needed an additional truckFourth, the movers were not employees of Door2DoorThe Foreman hired the guys from CraigslistOne smelled of alcohol so strongly that everyone could smell it in the house (before he quit without doing any work and still demanding the Foreman pay him)
Fifth, they will ignore your callI called multiple times, back to back, going through every menu option possible and no one answered my call or returned my voice messagesMy wife called in from her phone rather than mine and was answered, consistently, several timesThey didn't want to deal with me since there was a problem with the move, and I can only assume they would do the same to anyone else
Despite all of this -- the Foreman & other guy worked their tails off to get us moved once we convinced them to stayThey were incredibly hard workers and did their best to get us out on timeHowever, I reserved trucks and guys from a moving company so that I didn't have to take off any time from workI was met with truck and guys, and had to take off a day of work and call in several favors and rent an additional truck to get us moved
In the end, I ended up paying the company for the man hours that I used of the men and the two trucksIt was an additional expense for the rental of the additional truck, and expenditure of using PTO for my own job
Learn from my mistakes -- go localUse a local moving companyIf you are ok with the level of professionalism that we experienced with this company, post an ad on craigslist for whoever to respond to and rent a couple of trucks yourselfSame results and much cheaper
