be food borne illnesses.
In regards to produce from Mexico - we state on our website that much of our produce is sourced locally. There are on occasions such as in cases of drought where we source from areas outside of the 150 mile preferred radius. When we are forced to source from outside the local radius we use one of two distributors out of San Francisco that source from all over the world. However, we stick to only items that are sourced from California, and occasionally Oregon and Washington during winter for things like apples and pears when our local season does not have any winter fruit. In about 2 cases our distributors have made the error of giving us a case that may not be what we ordered and may have been from mexico which was the case with bell peppers and I think tomatoes. Because we package the day of delivery we had to use the produce that was in those cases. We still leave the stickers on so that its not misleading, and are transparent when our customers ask as I'm sure we have explained to [redacted] (the person who filed this complaint).
